U.S.S. Titania NCC-71864

"It's human nature to stretch, to go, to see, to understand.
Exploration is not a choice, really; it's an imperative."

The Titania Class, USS Titania NCC-71864, currently undergoing final tests, has a gross mass of ???,000
metric tons and is twenty decks thick. The Titania has a crew complement of 150, and has a sustainable
cruising velocity of warp factor 8. The ship's computer systems feature advanced Bio-Neural gelpacks with a
Artificial Intelligence Module for the EMH . The Titania also features numerous specialized Labs for all
branches of the sciences. Designed not as a ship of war but as a shp to live up to the Star-Fleet creed to
"Seek out new life and new civilazations to boldy go where no man has gone before."

History of the Titania Project

"Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."

The Titania Project began as a refit for the aging Soyuz science vessels. However during it's early stages Star-Fleet oped for a new class of ship utilizing the latest advances in Star-Fleet Technology. The basic shape of the Titania Class is very similiar to the Soyuz Class vessels with the following exceptions. The saucer section has been elogated to allow for more room for science labs. And the main diffence are the variable G Intrepid style warp nacelles allowing less disruption of the Space-Time contium. The first prototype of this design, the USS Titania, was constructed at the Scylla-X Fleetyards, of the Starbase 13 complex, in the Epsilon Indy Star system. The USS Titania is currently awaiting it's maidien voyage.

Engines

"Blessed Lady of Acceleration don't fail us now"

The Titania Class is a speedy little ship, not quite as fast as the Darwin, but close. It's cruising speed of warp 8 is slightly underrated. The titania use the next generation Dilitium crystal alignment to off even greater efficiency from the M/AM warp core. The nacelles are postioned on variable g warp pylons and of the latest non-poluting Intrepid style

Defenses
"It's best to run away and Fight another Day."

The Titania shields are the most powerful state of the art defensive system that STF has they are Defiant Class Auto-modulated high capacity shield system, total capacity 8,640,000 Terra-Joules ,(Powered by 6 generators on deck 14) The Titania heavily depends on it's Defensive sytems to escape destruction. In addition to the Shields the titania utilizes Quantoberilium plating over Key systems such as the Bridge and Warp Pylon Bearings and other Vital areas.

Offensive Capabilities
"Never pick a fight without your big brother nearby"

The Titania has limited firepower relative to the other Vessels of STF, but stilll has
12 x Type X (5.1 Megawatt) Phaser Arrays, 2 torpedo/sensor pod launchers one pair forward AI "fire and forget torpedoes" to defend herself.

Shuttle Craft
The Titania has numerous support vessels to Aid it in it's Science and Exploration mission.
The Titania has 4 standard Shuttle Craft plus 2 Valhalla Class runabouts: w/Interchangeble modules stored on Deck 17-20 these modules include Science Modules, Weapons Modules, and Numerous mission Specific Modules can be constructed.

Titania Class History

Class: Titania Class
Tentative Name: U.S.S. Titania
Purpose: Science, Escort
The Titania is a Science vessel that can perform Escort duties. The Titania has minimal phaser and torpedo capability relative to the other STF vessels and relies heavily on it's galaxy class shields and quantoberlium armor over key systems to protect the ship. The ship is designed to evade enemies by speed and maneuverability rather than confront them. :
If required however the two Valhalla vessels aboard can mount a substantial offense. While these are normally configured for science missions the Titania has three full decks dedicated to module storage and combat modules are in the mix. The Valhalla are equally valuable to the ship for their exploratory capabilities.
