Introduction
This is a brief introduction to ChatZilla, an extension for the firefox webbrowser. It can be downloaded and installed from Here. Once installed, and your browser rebooted, Chatzilla can be found under the Tools menu at the top of the browser. This will then open up a seperate window.
Setting up your client
Once you have ChatZilla loaded up, you need to get to the Preferences. This can be found under the ChatZilla Menubar option

Choosing the right server

Under the Global Settings, select the Startup tab (circled in red) and you will be faced with a similar sight as above. Find the box called "Auto-connect URLs" and you need to add the following command: irc://irc.sorcery.net/
This will ensure that Chatzilla connects to Sorcery.net once it is started.
Pressing the ADD button located at the bottom of the screen will bring up a new box:

Selected Network as your type, and input irc.sorcery.net, then click ok. This will add a new option to your preferences, that will enable us to customise a number of settings for this server (see below).
Customising your nick

Highlight the irc.sorcery.net option in the lefthand sidepanel and under the General tab you can set up various options, such as what name will be displayed if someone performs a WHOIS, and your primary nickname. In the above example the nickname will be STFGUEST.
Joining #Star-fleet
Next, we'll set up ChatZilla so that it will automatically identify you, if you've registered your nickname with the server, and join the #star-fleet channel:
Once again, whilst under the irc.sorcery.net preferences, select the "Lists" tab (this is circled in red below)

Then located the Auto-perform box. It is in here that you can specify certain commands to be performed when your client joins the server. In the above example the following commands have been added:
/msg nickserv identify PASSWORD The word PASSWORD would need to be replaced with the relevant password for your nick.
/j #star-fleet This simple command tells the server you want to join the #Star-fleet channel.
Channel Rules
Please read the channel rules before joining #Star-fleet. Ignorance of the rules is no excuse!
