As some of you may be aware, an incident occurred recently that was completely inappropriate and offensive. If you are not
aware of the details then consider yourself blessed and do not ask for them.

During a recent trip out of town for me, many unauthorized things happened on our network here at our office. Postings were
submitted to STF that were totally unacceptable and hence been removed.

At first, we were very confused and had no idea what was going on. We did not even find out what had actually happened until today. Thanks to the coordinated efforts of STF Command, we now are aware of those details. As a result of those efforts, the situation appears to have been dealt with.

Following is an excerpt of today’s email between myself and the STF President and our CO:

“As it turns out, STF was not the only entity affected during my absence. Turns out that there were several other things that
happened here in my office while I was out of town.

After investigating the possibilities, we have now confirmed that one of my employees had been using several workstations on
our network here (mine included) for various unauthorized purposes. We have identified, confirmed, and terminated this
employee today.

This has obviously caught us completely off guard on this end. We are still dealing with the problems resulting from these
incidents and have not even fully determined the extent of what all may have been affected. STF is just one among many. We
are now receiving thousands of dollars worth of inventory items that were apparently ordered by this same person using what
was supposed to be very secure transaction processing. I am not trying to minimize the effects of this on STF, but rather just
putting it in perspective with the overall situation.

Regardless of what this person has done, bottom line is that we, as a corporation, are somewhat responsible for their actions.
With this in mind, we are prepared to extend our sincere apologies to all affected parties. We are prepared to do this in a
written, public fashion as well. As far as any future repercussions stemming from this, we are prepared to accept whatever you
and/or STF feel is appropriate up to and including my resignation.

Again, we sincerely apologize to you, Matt, Deanne, and STF for allowing this to happen. We hope that a full recovery will be
forthcoming real soon and any further possibilities of anything anywhere close to this happening again will be prevented. Your
understanding and cooperation will be greatly appreciated. If you will let us know which direction you wish for us to proceed
from here, then we will act accordingly.”

Thanks for your response. You do not need to resign from STF. Mike Bourdaa deleted the entire thread so quickly after it was posted that any damage done was minimal. Not many members are even aware of the incident. You might want to post a
public apology and explanation on your ship, but that should suffice. I have had almost no complaints except for a few on IRC
in our STF channel. I would also change my WeBB login password if I were you and keep it a secret. Carry on.

Following this, I would now like to officially extend my sincere apologies to everyone in STF who may have been exposed to
that garbage. I would now like to receive direction from our CO based on the consensus of our crew as to the appropriate
disposition of whatever needs to be done.
