Engineering Department Report

August, 2009

I am embarrassingly delinquent with this report. 80% of that has to do with a lack of content for the report itself, and the other 20% was pure laziness to make up content. So, to supplement our report, I'm including a new temporary-permanent section called "Lee's Thoughts" (or whatever I decide to call it in any given month) which will summarize the progress of the NNNPP. Actually I would have done this anyway, as it was requested and it's a good idea, but good timing that we need some extra content this month!

This month, we:

1. Returned the Sentry Gun Tech to Al for modification.

2. Spent the entire month and then some waiting for reviews to come in on the Midnight Class Fighter.

3. Jared apologized for breaking his toe and not doing EDept work. (I don't make this stuff up people.)

Lee's Thoughts:

It's the beginning of September and we've begun our examination of the New Navy Plan with the first section, the Sensor Systems section. My focus on this section is to determine the viability of the numbers used given the limited canon information on them.

We've also added one more member who I had hoped would join us, Jared Kurtz. He has already issued a short essay describing the sensor systems that does a much better job of explaining them than I could ever do. His input will definitely be a valuable resource to the group.

I have also got the group set to allow public viewing, so anyone wishing to see details on the discussion is welcome to stop in through the above link. I will continue to document the process in the projects module with descriptive reports like this one for those wanting a glimpse at the progress made will have that, and the basic progress will also be archived.

And that's what the EDept looked like in August.
