SNN UPDATE #24

No, you're not seeing double -- and this isn't a repost of  
yesterday's.  For the first time in recorded history, two   
SNN UPDATEs have been published in that many days.  You     
have on your screen the world's first SNN UDPATE double-    
feature.  I don't know whether to cheer or take pity on     
this club;  It's a tough call.  Since yesterday's issue     
mainly focused on Aaron "The Imperial Senate will not sit   
still for this" Holland and the OC-AC issue, we here at SNN 
Center have decided to publish a supplementary issue...     
=/\= OT ROUNDUP                                             
* One of our old features was the "OT Roundup," which we    
 are bringing back, featuring the best of the OT.  Our      
 first story is PUN, the Plumber's Union Network.  PUN was  
 fairly active for a while last month, but hasn't shown     
 much life lately.  Den's invitation -- anyone can have     
 their own show on his network, if they post it -- still    
 stands, however.  "STF PUN..."                             
* One among many STF watering holes, Mike "Postatosis"      
 Ballway's Antimatter Cafe features STF's only complete     
 menu, dating back to the days of its predecessor, Mike's   
 Place.  The A/M Cafe also has franchises in SB93 and in    
 the Academy.                                               
* Another bar, one with a richer tradition, is the newly    
 rejuvenated Rebel's Bar, featuring good drinks and good    
 company.  It is owned and operated by Emmie "The same and  
 yet different" Hunt.  "STF  REBEL'S BAR."                  
* For those of you who prefer a newer twist... Visit  the   
 new "Mac Sux Cafe," opened on 23 April by Nick "Well,      
 they do!" Oven.  As if it's not blindingly obvious, the    
 purpose is to riducule Macintoshes... "STF MAC SUX CAFE."  
 Nick's boss, Randy "Premsident" McCullick, also operates   
 his own bar ("STF MCCULLICK'S PUB"), although nobody's     
 posted there since 11 May.                                 
=/\= BEYOND THE GBB                                         
* For some time now, STF has been holding regular Chat      
 Meets... Mike "Cray Z" Ballway and Becca "CommanderJ"      
 Juarez have been organizers in the past, and Mike has rec- 
 ently posted a "OK, let's choose a date" note in the sub   
 "STF CHAT MEET."  All are invited, all should report there 
 to say when they can come.                                 
* For the first time ever, STF has a WWW page.  For two     
 years, people have talked about it -- some have even       
 started work on it -- but it was not until a few days ago  
 that STF officially went up on the Web.  The URL for STF's 
 main page -- maintained by President Randy "Webmaster"     
 McCullick -- is "http://pages.prodigy.com/REMpages/        
 stfpage.html."  From there, one can follow links to addit- 
 ional pages maintained by Aaron Holland, Nick Oven, and    
 others.                                                    
* After Chat and the WWW, where is there to go?  Well...    
 Admiral Nick "Gutenburg" Oven has the answer:  The printed 
 word!  On 6 May he surprised us all with his announcement  
 that he would be publishing an STF Yearbook, similar to    
 ones tried in the past.  For more information, drop by     
 "STF PRINTING PRESS."  The 'book will feature pictures and 
 information about, hopefully, everyone in STF and is       
 planned to cost about $5 per issue.

was published yesterday and today, as well as (hopefully)   
two weeks from now, by Mike "New record! Hip Hip Hooray!"   
Ballway.  There were almost no opinions in this issue, but  
if he let any slip through, they aren't his.  Not necessa-  
rily.  SNN UPDATE follows the Journalistic Motto of "Quick, 
Informative, Totally Biased Reporting of STF Events" and    
is distributed, hopefully, to every ship's ANNOUNCE sub.    
If you have a complaint, stuff it.  No, seriously:  Any     
complaints, comments, or alternate Barney lyrics should be  
Emailed to the Publisher/Writer.
