Hi there and welcome back once again to SNN UPDATE. We've just ended a monthlong hiatus caused by our vacation but we're not letting that interfere with our pledge to you, "Quick, Informative, Totally Biased Reporting of STF Events." I just want to take a minute to inform all of you that the "SNN UPDATE" published during our absence made unauthorized use of our name and format and was not a work of ZMP Limited. It's just another example of plagiarism by a careless star-fleet.com employee, and we deplore it. <g>

=/\= NEWS

  •    Our top story concerns the opening of the "WeBB," an acronym of sorts for "Web Bulletin Board," which has become the premier attraction at Nick "Egg On Face" Oven's star-fleet.com (sfc). Mike "Mediocre Coder" Bourdaa is the Big Man on WeBB, serving as Personnel Manager, FComm, and ask-Abby-man thereof. STF President Greg "What? The Government's still spending money? This is an outrage!" Hertzsch has begun naming ships: the first is the Athena, followed by the Dresden, and then the Olympic. Even these three ships are now full and membership (at latest count 36) has eclipsed STF-Prodigy's (STF*P). The board went online in the first week of August of this year.
  •    If you want to take a phaser shot at the Assistant Editor of this newsletter (and who doesn't?), just a note for the record: J.R. "Not his real name" Stevenson, formely CO of the Connie, has taken a lowly job as Chief-o-Security on the Vicky. This actually happened a while ago.
  •    The sfc/FrameWeb fiasco has pretty much calmed down, as offending party Nick "My Legal Bills Are Bigger Than Yours" Oven removed his links to the plagiaristic contraband Fleet One page, replacing it with links to Aaron "Helpless victim" Holland's FrameWeb official page.
  •    In related news, the infamous STF Jack Webb page ([sfc/webb.html]) has also been taken down, prompting much wailing and gnashing of teeth by Phil "But Dragnet's My Favorite Show!" Bishop. The page was a photo of Jack Webb and the statement that the Board wouldn't be there. Nick took it down when the Board was indeed moved there.
  •    Mike "Let's Set Back ED History" Bourdaa (also promoted recently from Commander to Captain; Congrats, Mike) has suggested that STF take in the TNG-designed Olympic class as a member of STF's New Fleet. Opposition to this move by founder of the ED Mike "Is Always On Hiatus" Ballway was swift, but it has enjoyed support from Aaron "Setting back history sounds like a good idea" Holland. Check out the debate (at "STF - ED TRAFALGAR," oddly enough). Also, the discussion on the so-called "Kirk class" is still raging in Owen's Office nearby.
  •    And finally, the Sixth Annual McParty opened to standing ovations and a sellout crowd on 5 August. After an opening statement by Prez Greg "Lets get this party going" Hertzsch the room quickly became alive with Jello Fights, Jello Copyright Information, and the much-anticipated revival of the Cola Wars, with Mike "Pepsi Forever" Ballway, protégé of Pepsi great Laura Leslie, taking up the Minority side, and Dennis "Evil Empire 'til Eternity" Hannigan fighting for the STF Standard beverage (Coke).
