New WeBB AWOL Policies
Purpose of the AWOL Policy
The purpose of the AWOL policy is to prevent unnecessary delays in the RPGs caused by people disappearing suddenly: There are three levels of this policy: Command Officers, Senior Officers, and Junior Officers. The higher ranked officers must abide by a more stringent policy because they are often a critical part of the game. Because of the differences between the P* and WeBB branches of STF, this policy affects ONLY the THIRD and FOURTH fleets of STF (i.e. Those fleets existing wholly on the WeBB)
Note that
these are absolute BARE MINIMUMS. All members should strive
to be well ahead of this minimum activity level, if they seek
promotion or assignment to higher posts.
Command Officer AWOL
Policy
Affects: COs, XOs, and GMs
Commanding Officers (COs) MUST post at least one time every three (3) days. The XO and GM jointly monitor this, and if the CO is absent for more than 72 hours, they must report that absence to the Fleet Commander and the Assistant Fleet Commander via email.
Gamemasters (GMs) MUST post at least one time every three (3) days. The CO and XO jointly monitor this, and if the GM is absent for more than 72 hours, they must report that absence to the Fleet Commander and the GM Director via email.
Executive
Officers (XOs) MUST post at least one time every four
(4) days. The CO and XO monitor GM activity.
Immediately upon 4 full days of absence, the Fleet Commander and
Assistant Fleet Commander must be reported by email.
Senior Officer AWOL
Policy
Affects: All Department Heads
(CE(O), CSO, COS, CMO, equivalents)
All Senior
Officers (Any person who's position does not end with a dash and
a number) must post at least once per seven (7)
days. The CO and XO will monitor this status, and report to
the Fleet Commander once 7 days of AWOL has occured. At
this point, the CO will appoint a replacement for the AWOL member
from his crew, from his Junior Officers, or request a replacement
officer from the Personnel Department.
Junior Officer AWOL
Policy
Affects: All other members
All Junior
Officers must post at least once every 14 days. The
respective department heads will monitor this, and inform their
CO if and when one of their assistants is officially AWOL.
The CO should confirm this before officially deactivating the
officer (by demotion to "Crewman").
Approved Leave
Requests
Affects: All members
Any member planning to leave star-fleet for a signifigant period of time should notify their direct commanders by email in order to not be declared AWOL.
Junior
Officers should inform their Department Head, XO, and CO.
Senior Officers
should inform their CO, XO, and the Assistant Fleet Commander
XOs should inform
their CO, Assistant Fleet Commander, and Fleet Commander.
GMs should inform
the CO, Fleet Commander and GMDir.
COs should inform
their XO, Assistant Fleet Commander, and Fleet Commander.
The official Leave policy is: Your character is deactivated "honorably" rather than dishonorably. Upon your return, if your old position is still available, you will be reinstated. Otherwise, you will be given an equivalent position somewhere. You still may be replaced, if you are absent for a long term, however, you will suffer no "penalty" for having to leave Starfleet for a while.
If you are
AWOL, you might not be given your original position back, however
we are always willing to give you another opportunity, either on
the same, or another ship, when you return.
This policy has been enacted
effective November 17, 1997, by Fleet Commanders Mike Bourdaa and
Jeff Field of STF3 and STF4 respectively. The GM portion of
this policy has been approved by GMDir Colin Wyers and the FComms
as well. This policy was officially approved for use on all
WeBB fleets by President Greg Hertzsch on March 8, 1998.
