The WeBB Interfleet Competition

"Don't blame me, it wasn't MY idea!"

In December of 1997, newly appointed CO Seamus Hughes of the USS Brooklyn began the Post War, as a way to encourage his crew to become active.  The plan was wildly sucessful for the Brooklyn, and has become a new STF Tradition.   The Post War is being retroactively included in all WeBB fleets.  Any CO who wishes to participate should contact Mike Bourdaa before the end of March.

Ship of the Month awardThis is the most prestigeous award, the "Ship of the Month".  It is based on the quality, rather than the quantity, of the RPGing environment, and the level of interest the ship's creativity has generated within the crew.  Because this is a subjective award, there are judges for this section, who select three choices (1st, 2nd, and 3rd).  Those votes are merged, to give the results.  For months before March, the SotM was what is now called MAS.  USS Andorian is the champion of this award, having won three of the four SotM's awarded.

The points are 20, 10, 5, 2, 1 (for 1st through 5th place)

Most Active Ship Award This is the "Most Active Ship" award (formerly called the "Ship of the Month" award), given to the ship which has the most posting overall.  The Brooklyn won the unofficial first award in December 1997, then repeated as champion, winning the first official award.  To win this award, the ship must be coordinated, posting early and posting often, and perhaps most importantly, posting long.   The Brooklyn/Hopper won 3 of the 6 MAS awards, being the most prolific ship on the WeBB.

The points are 10, 5, 2, 1 (for 1st through 4th)

Most Active CrewThis is the "Most Active Crew" award, which modifies the SotM award, by scaling it by average activity per crewmember, allowing ships with smaller crews to have a chance to compete.  The Brooklyn, however, despite having the largest crew, tied for this award in December, and won it outright in Janurary.  The key to winning this war is for each member of the crew to be active, thus this is the one that individuals have the most control over, by themselves being active.  In Feburary, the USS Dresden edged out the Olympic for this prize.  This award is no longer awarded as of March 1998.

The points are (were) 10, 5, 2, 1 (for 1st through 4th)

Most Improved awardThis is the "Most Improved Ship" award, which is given to ships which have shown the most improvement.  It was first awarded in March.  It is a fairly subjective award, chosen by election of the official judges.

The points are 3, 1 (for 1st and 2nd places)

STF3 Flagship AwardSTF3 Flagship AwardThis is the Flagship Award, which will be granted to the ship with the highest points total after 6 months of postwars.  On July 6th, it was officially determined that USS Andorian and USS Hopper had tied, thus both ships are thus awarded.

A note about Icons:  The fleet number on the award represents the fleet that ship was in when the award was granted.  Thus, the USS Olympic, for example, earned the SOTM award for Feburary while in STF3, although it is now a part of STF5.

A Dash represents a finish below scoring range in a category.
* = The May MAS was less than one post difference, and was therefore considered a virtual tie between Hopper and Dresden. Actual difference in posts was approximately four-fifths of one post. For this reason, Hopper was awarded 8 points for 1st, and Dresden 7 points for 2nd
** = Hopper was twice rounded up (in April, and in June) due to ties.  However, rounding was not considered in the final totals, so the Hopper total is one point lower than the sum of its monthly totals.
