Quote of the Month

Well, with the fleetwide in full swing, my staff has slowed down in getting these in. I will have to break out the CO9T again unless I see an improvement. We also have a new face in the fleet, Johnathan Hughes, who takes over for Ralf Steen, who was forced to resign as CO of the Columbus due to RL issues. I didn't want to send this report in until we had a full roster again. OK, yeah, and I was swamped with work, ok? On with the show!
Since everything ties together, and since I'm GMing all but one ship in the fleet right now, we'll get this out of the way all at once.
The Alliance was docked at Starbase 202 after its last mission, and several of the crew were hanging around on the station partying. Ships were starting to dock again. One of them was a frieghter, the SS Falcon, registered to one Lars Ono. Ono was carrying two passengers, both dressed in brown robes and able to influence the weak minded. They were in the cantina when the SNN broadcast regarding the Asimov's last mission came through, and were amazed at what they saw. We don't know exactly why yet.
Shortly after they left the Cantina, Ono entered the cantina where he was assaulted by a green and spikey alien named "Greedo." There was a large fight, and one of the Alliance officers, Lt. Toobits, a Yuki (wookie, see a previous Alliance mission), was nearly killed. Ono saved his life, and now Toobits feels he owes Ono. He helped Ono escape, but in the process several people in the cantina were injured and one Sec NE was killed by Greedo. Greedo is now in custody, on his way to the brig, while Ono and Toobits returned to the Falcon and blasted their way out of spacedock, damaging several weapons and shielding systems on the way. The Alliance took off in persuit of the Falcon. They are currently in persuit at high warp, far higher than a freighter of that size should be able to handle. Ono must have made some special modifications himself.
Meanwhile, the brown-robed pair suddenly swooned on the promenade, claiming to have sensed "a great disturbance in the Force." The proceeded directly to Ops, where they "persuaded" the crew to scan for strange occurances. As luck (or destiny) would have it, at almost the exact moment they felt a disturbance the USS Asimov had detected an explosion coming from Zeta Epsilon VII, a planet named Alderaan, in the same system as Sith, the homeworld of the Seetha. As near as they could tell, the planet had been entirely blown away. They are investigating the matter.
The two brown-clad figures then entered the BCO's office, where despite asking for privacy they allowed the BXO and CNS to enter before locking the doors. One of them is taller and looks human(oid), rather like Alec Guiness. He has identified himself as Obi-Enne. His companion is shorter than the Crag, green, wrinkly, and on the few occations that he has spoken his ears have wiggled. His name has not been revealed. They have so far revealed that they and their people have been looking for the Rolchana, the Dyson Sphere that the Overlords used to control the Crag, for a thousand generations. Of course, it was just destroyed 3 years ago by Starfleet.
Meanwhile, in another part of the forest...
After arriving at the scene, Fleet Captain Jeff Field of the USS Montgomery beamed over to the saucer section of the Columbus, unlocked the computer, and took command. The Monty and Columbus had a short but violent exchange of fire with the Viceroy's ship, in which an automated robot fighter from the Viceroy's ship slammed into the Montgomery's bridge, after they had lost their bridge deflector shields. The command crew relocated to Engineering, as was standard prcedure on that ship. The Columbus forceably beamed the Viceroy on board and placed him under arrest (for what reason, the lawyers will have to decide later), but managed to "persuade" him to give them access to his ship's sensor logs. The Columbus has managed to confirm that the stardrive was in fact not destroyed but left with the Malencar Sect slave ship. They are trying to determine their most likely destination
The crew and ship have been doing great, posting is and has remained constant and high, and we are now looked forward to our third wedding, which will be uniting Emily's pregnant Arbazan character with Mack's psycho doc character, just in time for the babies to be born, god help us ;)
All the departments are looking strong, although the Engineering Department's crew seem to either have a tendency for hurting themselves, or being near the wrong piece of equipment at the wrong time, although this has the side effect of keeping the medical department occupied, and out of mischief :) That leaves security trying to deal with a sabateur, as well as doing some group bonding..
The crew itself has remained fairly constant, except for the return of Cordell with his Doctor character, Michael Briscoe, welcome back Cord :)
Another month gone, the crew and ship are looking good... wheee!!!
However, firing on the Viceroy's ship had some unplanned consequences, automated fighters began to retalliate, which the science department has managed to find a way around now by confusing their signals. However, not before a stray one went hurtling towards the Montgomerys bridge..oops! To add insult to injury, the Columbus' phasers also took out the small round window on the Montgomery. Maybe a course in weapons fire, or some phaser training is in order? ;)
Activity on the Columbus has been strong, and fairly constant. Again there has been little activity from the CO or the XO on occasion, but that has not hampered activity, and the rest of the crew are ploughing through the sim, no doubt we will get to the bottom of it.. and find the stardrive section :)
The shockwave that eminated from within Seetha space from Alderaan has been picked up on the starbases sensors, and with some pursuasion from the two mysterious robed figures, they are trying to unravel the same mystery that is occupying the Asimov, well two heads are better than one :)
The crew has remained constant
Activity on the Starbase has steadily increased this month, but is still off the levels enjoyed by both the Columbus and the Asimov, but I have no worries that we will get there.
