Welcome again. The fleet has been picking up overall lately, except on the Montgomery. The plot advances steadily, but still not as fast as I would like it to. I think I have spoiled my staff. But then, Jeff stole my rod. Jeff! I have also decided to give some people a break. That's right, I have in fact REDUCED the amount of red tape. I've let my XOs off the hook, and am now just requiring reports from the COs. We'll see how this goes.
When last we met, I was but the learner, but hidden agents from the freighter Otana had managed to sneak aboard Starbase 202, as well. Breaking into the brig, they killed several NEs and sealed the door. A security team was on the scene in short order, but found themselves locked out. Blasting their way through the door, they found themselves faced with weapons fire from the attackers. While the battle ensues, a dozen new warp signature are approaching the station. Our brown-robed friends have identified them as their people.
Captain Thwayya of the Asimov, meanwhile, spoke to Darth Sussudio of the Seetha government. Although it pained him, Sussudio agreed to work with Starfleet as much as necessary, although they were not in a very good condition to do much, what with losing another planet and all. He did, however, get Thwayya to promise him that should Starfleet find Darth Vader and his people, they would notify the Seetha immediately. Thwayya agreed. That done, the Asimov headed for Mu Iota II, as the Montgomery had stated that it was unavailable, after detecting several additional warp signatures in the area. It looked like a battle was brewing, and they didn't want to miss all the fun.
With the Malencar Sect threat neutralized, the Columbus, with the help of the Montgomery, managed to rig its saucer warp core to generate a large enough warp field for the entire ship. It wasn't very powerful, though, so at Field's permission the Columbus is currently limping its way back towards Federation space at warp 2.4. The crew is enjoying some downtime. The Montgomery, having taken the Columbus' prisioners, is considering Belka's offer. Belka, the Malencar's chief engineer and highest ranking survivor, has agreed to take the Montgomery to the Awaj who sold them the Force Generators in return for the release of himself and his compatriots. It has also been learned from the prisioners that the Palpitine are a homeless species. They know not where their homeworld is, only that they were driven from it long ago, destroying their once mighty galactic empire. It sounds a lot like wishful thinking.
Wishful thinking, however, could save the Alliance from a lot of trouble. After managing to rescue Lt. Dalgety from the jaws of the giant space slug, the crew began looking for the SS Falcon again. As luck would have it, the Falcon had hidden inside the same asteroid that the slug was in, in fact inside the slug itself. The ship tried to flush the freighter out with phasers, only to get the slug angry. The slug ran from its asteroid, taking the Falcon with it, before realizing that the Alliance might prove tasty.
Plotwise, not a great deal happening, talks with Sussudio are going well, the strange holograms on deck 3 have been contained, and security have their hands full, along with engineering trying to figure out the culprit.. one big clue guys,.. it originated in Sickbay ;) Science have been playing with babies, flying around engineering, and are about to start on a new project, that is once I give it to them ;) Medical have been keeping a low profile, they haven't been trying to experiment on the crew, and I hear rumours of strange equipment checks.. all I know is I'm not going down there anytime soon.
Well at least the Asimov is in one piece, the crew are healthy, although I'm not sure about their mental health, so we're looking good, although some room for improvement.
Larry is the best FComm in the world for not Firing me. Well, him and Jaret, as neither fired me.
A moment of silence for the loss of Douglas Adams. That sucked!
Normal niew. Normal View. Normal View! NORMAL VIEW!!!!!
