Well the fleet has seen quite a few changes over the past month. With Larry taking up his seat as STF president, with which we wish him luck, I have a feeling he's going to need it! I get to move into his old office :)
Most noticebly it's gotten chubby over all the food it's been eating over the holiday season. We will be starting to implement a diet and exercise plan for nearly everyone, baring me, of course ;)
With the festivites and end of the various fleetwide parties, the fleet has started out on it's adventure. Commodore Bligh has finally bid the Alliance farewell, to be replaced by the Vulcan CO of Stoek. All the ships baring the Asimov have new GMs, brand spanking new in the cases of the Montgomery and the Columbus, and Deanne in the case of the Alliance. So it's just a matter of holding on and settling down for the ride.
The Alliance has been sent to intercept a mysterious vessel that has slinked in Fourth Fleet space near the Klingon border. Since this is an area dominated by the Seetha, Starfleet is nervous. The ship matches no known ship design and is not responding to any type of hail.
Unbeknownst to anyone, the craft has destroyed a small, unarmed Pakled
ship in a blistering display of power. It's now in the main shipping
lanes and heading into more heavily occupied space.
The Alliance definately has an all star line-up. Larry, Mike Bourdaa, Deanne, Jeremy, Chris Ashley, and the returning Mike Ballway, just to name a few.
Posting levels have remained fairly high even in the midst of the holiday season, and with this crew the quality remains strong. I anxiously await the end of the holidays to see what this crew is really capable of, as from past experience, Deanne will really test them.
The tension between Commander Daniels (Brandon Stoll) and his DH Lieutenant Braden (Brandon Goodin) continues to mount. That's what I get for having a JO at a higher rank than the DH, but it makes some interesting reading, and besides we need a bit of conflict here and there to spice up life :)
Otherwise, the Asimov has been her usual good self. Ralf has returned to us once again, much to my delight. This also means we now have a counsellor, so maybe, just maybe he can sort out my mad crew! Of course knowing my luck the whole bunch of them will end up mutinying, hijacking my cake supplies and leave me stranded somewhere while they head off to Risa. I just hope none of them are reading this, don't want to give them any ideas! ;)
Larry has promised to stay on as GM, (what have I let myself in for? :) ) and we have been dispatched to explore some recently discovered plot of black space stuff that is lurking around in Fleet 4. How anyone didn't know it was there is beyond me but still. As long as it doesn't involve blowing up the ship I should be happy, and with the prospect of lots of scanning to keep science happy, as well as a few possible first contact situations, I think we are in for a treat.
Elana is gracing our fine decks as she attempts to tie up some loose ends between her Hermat and Ralf's Bajoran character. So that should lead to some very interesting character development.
Overall I think it's fair to say things are looking good for the new year.
Over the past month, posting levels have remained high and of excellent quality. The down time between sims didn't slow the crew down one bit, which quickly went into character development mode and gave a lot of depth to the characters. Edison Uy, Lt Cmdr Shirov (XO), has done an excellent job in his short tenure. Kudos to the entire crew.
We are also in the midst of planning a wedding between the CMO and one of the engineers. It promises to be an interesting and fun filled time. All in all, the crew continues to impress me with their abilities, and constantly shows me why Fleet 4 is the best Fleet in STF.
After following the scheduled flightpath of the runabout, along with it's last known location, the Montgomery has managed to pick up a badly degraded warp trail and are in pursuit.
A NE nurse accidentily messed up a vaccination and infected a crewmember with a rather nasty virus. THe medical staff resolved the situation, but several people are still waiting for innoculations for over exposure.
The crew has detected an odd anomoly that only shows up on IR scans, and is investigating.
A fergeni merchant ship, the FMS Rebate, has docked at the station and is engaging in trade with the stations crew. A senior enlisted crewmember seems to have had some sort of purchase arranged, which went sour when the ferengi didnt make with the goods.
Please note that the SIM has -just- started and all this chaos is only the beginning hehehehe
