Fleet News and Briefs

Well the fleet has seen quite a few changes over the past month. With Larry taking up his seat as STF president, with which we wish him luck, I have a feeling he's going to need it! I get to move into his old office :)

Most noticebly it's gotten chubby over all the food it's been eating over the holiday season. We will be starting to implement a diet and exercise plan for nearly everyone, baring me, of course ;)

With the festivites and end of the various fleetwide parties, the fleet has started out on it's adventure. Commodore Bligh has finally bid the Alliance farewell, to be replaced by the Vulcan CO of Stoek. All the ships baring the Asimov have new GMs, brand spanking new in the cases of the Montgomery and the Columbus, and Deanne in the case of the Alliance. So it's just a matter of holding on and settling down for the ride.

USS Alliance

CO: Larry Garfield
XO: Peter Hull
GM: Deanne Ashton

CO Report:
The Alliance is on an upswing, with an influx of new crew and characters. We've been joined by several old hats, including Mike Bourdaa, Deanne Ashton, returning members Mike Ballway and Ralf Steen (both of whom once served as XO, we now have all former XOs on board except for Seamus Hughes), and a New and Improved Larry Garfield. I finally had the opportunity to get rid of my long standing thorn, William Bligh, so I've brought in a new old character, Captain Stoek. Stoek goes way back to 1997, and was the first Chief of Station Security in STF history (on Outpost 42). After Bligh's no-nonsense stick-in-the-mud attitude, the crew should do very well with a 0.0001% emotion Vulcan. ;-)
Posting is up, as is the quality of posting. The actual mission hasn't quite started, although we have our orders and are en route to wherever Command told us to go. I'm looking forward to the next few weeks and months, as I see good things ahead.

GM Report:
The sim is just getting going, having been delayed a wee bit by Larry's visit to Massachusetts and a couple of regulars being on extended LOAs.

The Alliance has been sent to intercept a mysterious vessel that has slinked in Fourth Fleet space near the Klingon border. Since this is an area dominated by the Seetha, Starfleet is nervous. The ship matches no known ship design and is not responding to any type of hail.

Unbeknownst to anyone, the craft has destroyed a small, unarmed Pakled ship in a blistering display of power. It's now in the main shipping lanes and heading into more heavily occupied space.

AFComm Report:
The past month has seen many changes. With Larry's election to the Presidency, he had to pass the reigns of F4. As such, he also transferred his FComm character off the Alliance. I have also joined the engineering staff, since I now have to report on the ship monthly anyway.

The Alliance definately has an all star line-up. Larry, Mike Bourdaa, Deanne, Jeremy, Chris Ashley, and the returning Mike Ballway, just to name a few.
Posting levels have remained fairly high even in the midst of the holiday season, and with this crew the quality remains strong. I anxiously await the end of the holidays to see what this crew is really capable of, as from past experience, Deanne will really test them.

USS Asimov

CO: Emma Rouse-Deane
XO: Edison Uy
GM: Larry Garfield

CO Report:
The Asimov is still here, so that's good :) The Christmas period and the subsequent holidays and LOA's have brought a drop in posting that has been more or less mirrored everywhere else. I expect that to be rectified in the coming weeks as everyone comes back from vacation.

The tension between Commander Daniels (Brandon Stoll) and his DH Lieutenant Braden (Brandon Goodin) continues to mount. That's what I get for having a JO at a higher rank than the DH, but it makes some interesting reading, and besides we need a bit of conflict here and there to spice up life :)
Otherwise, the Asimov has been her usual good self. Ralf has returned to us once again, much to my delight. This also means we now have a counsellor, so maybe, just maybe he can sort out my mad crew! Of course knowing my luck the whole bunch of them will end up mutinying, hijacking my cake supplies and leave me stranded somewhere while they head off to Risa. I just hope none of them are reading this, don't want to give them any ideas! ;)

Larry has promised to stay on as GM, (what have I let myself in for? :) ) and we have been dispatched to explore some recently discovered plot of black space stuff that is lurking around in Fleet 4. How anyone didn't know it was there is beyond me but still. As long as it doesn't involve blowing up the ship I should be happy, and with the prospect of lots of scanning to keep science happy, as well as a few possible first contact situations, I think we are in for a treat.

Elana is gracing our fine decks as she attempts to tie up some loose ends between her Hermat and Ralf's Bajoran character. So that should lead to some very interesting character development.

Overall I think it's fair to say things are looking good for the new year.

AFComm Report:
Even though I'm not required to report on this one, I'm going to do it anyway. The Asimov is in fine shape, although the engineering section is missing both its JO's. This will hopefully be remedied shortly after the New Year with the anticipated return of Jeremy Friedman.

Over the past month, posting levels have remained high and of excellent quality. The down time between sims didn't slow the crew down one bit, which quickly went into character development mode and gave a lot of depth to the characters. Edison Uy, Lt Cmdr Shirov (XO), has done an excellent job in his short tenure. Kudos to the entire crew.

USS Columbus

CO: Johnathan Hughes
XO: Linus Lindblad
GM: Jake Franlin

CO Report:
None submitted

GM Report:
OK just back from LOA so sorry for the late-titude. The columbus' senior staff have been briefed on the upcoming escort mission. Meanwhile the head colony freighter ship the UFS Newton has got in a rather slow yet agressive firefight with a bolian freighter.

FComm Report:
The Columbus has been doing well, even with the loss of Johno for quite a portion of the month. Like most of the fleet it's had a relatively slow, but steady Christmas period, with those of us that stayed around having plenty of fun to occupy us with. Jake has been settling in well into the role of GM, and his sim promises to be fun and challenging.

USS Montgomery

CO: Barret Vogtman
XO: Shalon Hubert
GM: Emma Rouse-Deane

CO Report:
The Monty has whethered the lag time well between sims. We now have a new GM, Emma RD, who is just beginning the new sim. Everyone has been keeping fairly active despite the holiday season and the suspension of AWOL regs until after the New Year. Of particular note is Zachary Bottoroff, Lt jg Hida (aCOS), who has been very active and doing a lot of character development tied in with running the department. My hat is off to him, and I expect he may be getting some very good news from our XO shortly.

We are also in the midst of planning a wedding between the CMO and one of the engineers. It promises to be an interesting and fun filled time. All in all, the crew continues to impress me with their abilities, and constantly shows me why Fleet 4 is the best Fleet in STF.

GM Report:
The Montgomery has been dispatched by Admiral Notrac to find the runabout, USS Tamfrom, and his missing grandaughter, Captain Alex Maxart, who was onboard the flight back to earth. The runabout was traversing a spot of unexplored space whilst onroute to a rendezvous point where it was going to be picked up by the USS Regnella for the rest of the journey back home

After following the scheduled flightpath of the runabout, along with it's last known location, the Montgomery has managed to pick up a badly degraded warp trail and are in pursuit.

Starbase 202

CO: Brian Smith
XO: David Yim
GM: Timothy Smith

CO Report:
I wish this could be a better report for my first one, but as I was not avaible for most of the month due to major computer problems, I will do the best that I can. The ship is going strong, even with a delayed start of the simm. The Ops and Sec Departments are strong, I'd have to say that not much is needed to help them out. Med and Sci are a little weak right now, due to lack of personell, but that issue is being addressed as I write this. As far as getting the base improved, I'm not doing anything right now, as I cannot really say, next month wil be a better judge of this issue.

GM Report:
A crewmember experienced some severe symptons of mental instbility, and ran out into the corriders shooting a phaser around and then vaporised himself. The crew is investigating why.

A NE nurse accidentily messed up a vaccination and infected a crewmember with a rather nasty virus. THe medical staff resolved the situation, but several people are still waiting for innoculations for over exposure.

The crew has detected an odd anomoly that only shows up on IR scans, and is investigating.

A fergeni merchant ship, the FMS Rebate, has docked at the station and is engaging in trade with the stations crew. A senior enlisted crewmember seems to have had some sort of purchase arranged, which went sour when the ferengi didnt make with the goods.

Please note that the SIM has -just- started and all this chaos is only the beginning hehehehe

FComm Report:
The starbase has been on fine form this month. Brian and his coffee addicted CO have had no trouble settling in, and Timothy's interlude into the sim was certainly interesting, and kept the crew occupied during the holidays. Posting despite the holiday season has been excellent, and the crew have been busy with trigger happy ensigns and plenty of character development.

Crell

Active Members: Larry Garfield, Deanne Ashton, Emma Rouse-Deane, Johnathan Hughes

Status:
There's a spot of romance in the air this month between resident maniac and evil-clone Bartleby and Eecha Lowa Bar & Grill Manager Sarah Kalkinny. After failing to get anywhere with Loki, Sesenta Nyan is back talking with Dalgety. And the ongoing saga of the will-they won't-they romance between Oliver Garfield and Lillith continues, and still amazingly only a couple of days have passed! :)
