Fleet Command Report

Fleet Commander

Another month has come and gone. Overall the fleet is doing well. Of considerable note is Starbase 202 which had been floundering. Stan and Cole have been doing well to turn it around. Shalon shall be stepping in shortly to GMC the starbase which should be an interesting ride.

The Montgomery's sim is at an end and I must congratulate Emma for passing and becoming a full GM. She did an excellent job and was very entertaining. The crew stayed very active with few exceptions and did an amazing job. Kudos to all.

The Asimov sim is also at an end and will soon see the departure of the current GM, Larry Garfield. It's been a fun ride with a few twists and turns that I don't think even Larry could have imagined but once again the crew has shown what the standard is for STF as a whole.

Barret Vogtman

Assistant Fleet Commander

USS Alliance

Sim to date:

The Alliance is between sims at the moment (for all practical purposes). The GM is still waiting on a few details (having picked up another GM's story), so we're marking time. But you get the impression that the crew don't seem to notice . . .

General health:
The Alliance is a ship full of very good roleplayers. ALmost all aboard are long term STFers, so when you have a sim stalling point like this one, character development picks up. Our new XO is becoming a barfly, Lt Com Dalgety's wife is having a baby (slowly and painfully), a doctor has gone walkabout on the nearest space station etc. It's a fun place to be RPing.

USS Columbus

Sim to date:
The Columbus is heading into battle with a rather unusual Klingon Bird of prey. Not much is known about its crew except that they are not klingons, which is strange to say the least. The StarDrive and the Little Ship are warping in to attack, whilst the Saucer is staying to guard the colony ships. Unfortunately, the battle has already cost the life of our COS, Stuart Coll.

General Health:
Aside from the captain being absent for about a week due to migraine [yes, again. This is getting really annoying.], things are very good aboard the Columbus. We have lost longtime crew member Stuart Coll to that irritating thing we call Real Life, but everyone else is posting well and posting often. It's a subjective thing, I know, but I'm having a lot of fun, and I suspect so are most of the crew. And that's the main thing.

Jonathan Hughes

Minister of Culture

The Asimov, Montgomery, and SB202 will be needing new GMs soon. At the moment, I am temp GMing SB202. The crew is almost all new to the station and to Fleet Four, so I'm throwing a big Crag party, complete with all of my various fleet characters as cameo guest stars, to introduce them to the Crag. I expect to be done by this time next month, at which point someone else will take over. The Asimov, as I mentioned above, is nearly done, and I believe Emma's GMC tour on the Monty should be over Real Soon Now as well. Frankly I'd have passed her a long time ago, she's more than qualified as a GM, except that she STILL hasn't blown up the bridge on the Monty. If she doesn't, I will, dagnabbit! Shalon Hurlbert will be taking up a GMC position, either on the Asimov or the station. I'm still working on tracking down people for the other of the two and for the Monty, which is problematic as we are in a GM shortage at the moment. Fortunately, no one on the Columbus tells me anything so I assume there is no trouble there. :-)

Starbase 202

Commanding Officer's Report

Things are starting to pick up on our station orbiting Crag. The crew numbers and activity has gone way up to the point where SB 202 resembles a real ship where real simming goes on.

We're right now in a mini-sim that Larry is GMing until the new GM, who I think is Shalon is ready to go and start the real sim. The mini-sim involves a party hosted by our starbase for various dignitaries from Crag, its giving our crew a chance to get used to what the Crag are like and get a feel for what its like working in fleet 4.

Other than that everything seems to be going good. Cole, our new XO, is posting regularly and keeping the underlings in line and such, so I'm happy about that. Our other DH's are doing a good job with between sim RPing, building personal relationships and such. I think that we're heading in a good direction.

Stan Tomson

Executive Officer's Report

I see a pretty fast pace. Moreso than the quantity of posts is the quality. A few of the crew go above and beyond in the creativity level of posts.

This is my first month or so on SB202, so I don't have any distinct mentions. However, I can say that I think the crew is working together very cohesively and I look forward to when our next sim moves forward. Which leads me to Larry, the new GM. Off and on, I've had Larry as a GM, and I'd just like to say that, as always, his dedication to it astounds me. Good job, Larry. Good job, Stan. I don't know why I included that second part, except for brownie points. <G>

If an Imperial Star Destroyer shows up, Larry, I'll cry.

FComm Note

Special thanks goes to David Yim, the former XO of the Starbase, for all his hard work.

USS Alliance

Captain's Report

The Ally has been quiet. Too quiet. Mostly due to GM issues. Cole and I have been trying to get Ryan's mission plan from him so that we could continue with it, but Ryan kept saying he would send it yet nothing appeared in our inboxen. We've decided that Cole is just going to go off on his own and we'll ignore Ryan's mission plan. I'm hoping to report better news next month, but as just about everyone knows a bad GM situation can really mess up a ship. Special mention goes to Deanne Ashton, Mike Bourdaa, Johno Hughes, and Cherie Mayhew for keeping up side-threads on their own in the mean time. We're also a little short on JOs right now, though Deanne told me a while back that there were some Challenger grads coming up soon. I'll be trying to steal a few of those.

Larry Garfield

Executive Officer's Report

Posting level is about the same but there has been quite a few LOAs so I guess that is to be expected.

Much the same as last month. The same few post faithfully the rest are sparodic or nonexistant.

Things are mighty slow but are due to pick up as the new GM gets things rolling.

Cherie Mayhew

Gamemaster's Report

After much delay on my part (around two weeks), I'm finally starting the sim tonight. It really involved a bunch of confusion between me and the former GM, and a weekend event for me that got extended a bit.

USS Asimov

Captain's Report

The Asimov is back on it's way to Valent where it's to release the impoundment squad back to the planet's officials, who are coming to meet us. we've still got the matter of the resistance onboard, and of course those that helped Avery / Campbell to retake back the ship. Larry's sim is slowly coming to an end and hopefully, we can leave that planet far behind us. I have got no plans on going on another exploration to unexplored regions of space where watching alien broadcasts is a no no. Emprisonment is not all it's cracked up to be, let me tell you!

There was a casualty to our ordeal on the planet's surface, our bartender, who has departed our fine decks, so we're drink and cakeless, unless we end up making our own, dagnabbit! So tis open season in the lounge, once everyone realises. With the lack of a counsellor, there's a few folks that are taking her loss hard, especially resident science officer Lt. James Merritt.

Posting is it's usual high quality levels on the Azzy, although posting frequency is still a little slow, but we'll pick up back to normal soon, I'm sure of it!

We've had the addition of a few new recruits, both Patrick, who has brought a character with a multiple personality onboard, and should fit right in with the rest of the crazy medical staff ;-) And Cherie, who stopped by to talk to Edison and we just tied her to the warp core till she agreed to stay. May this serve as a warning to anyone who dares stop by, we take prisoners! :-D

Overall I haven't got any complaints about the crew, or the ship, we seem to be in fairly good shape, and everyone is performing well.

Edison Uy

Gamemaster's Report

The mission is winding down. The crew has managed to kidnap a member of the Valenti government, Eisner, which I hadn't planned on. That should be sorted out shortly, however, at which point give or take some clean up the mission should be over. My current goal is to have someone else submitting the next Fleet Report as Asimov GM. :-) My hats off to the Asimov crew for a fun and entertaining two and a half years (dear Sisko, I've been GMing this ship that long??), and for bearing with me for this, my first "morality play" mission in, like, forever. There will be a speech at the end, of course.

We are still XO-less, but I have made my choice. I won't mention it here, so as not to pre-empt letting that person know! :) [see AFComm Report for further info]

Jonathan has been having some RL issues to deal with which has been delaying things a bit here. Everyone in Fleet 4 wishes him and his family well.

Gamemaster's Report

The Columbus is currently preparing to engage a dangerous Bird of Prey with an illegal subspace weapon on it. Unfortunately most of the crew seem to be 'waiting for clearance' due to recent un avoidable absences from the CO and current lack of XO to step in and move it along.

USS Montgomery

Captain's Report

The sim is at its end with only a few loose ends to tie up. I'm extremely proud of the crew, as they have done an exceptional job. It will soon be my task to reward all of their hard work. I must also thank Emma for an excellent sim. She is definately a worthy GM.

It does appear that the ship will make it through a sim without a scratch, finally. Although Larry is none to happy about that for some reason. However, I will have to squash him if he tries to blow my bridge up.

Barret Vogtman

Executive Officer's Report

Activity has picked up lately as the sim is drawing to an end. People are steadily posting almost daily with a few exceptions.

The crew as a whole is a pretty tight unit. People tend to work well together. However, this sim has been plagued by a pretty constant stream of complaining from the security department. Rather than deal with problems such as missed posts by e-mailing the party that missed their post, they complain with OOC comments. The problem has not reached a serious disciplinary level but should be addressed.

Once again I bid farewell as XO of this fine ship. I have served on her since joining STF and she is always my favorite. My new character, the CSO, will be introduced between sims.

Shalon Hurlbert

FComm Note

Special thanks goes to Shalon for his hard work on the Montgomery. He did an excellent job as XO and we wish him the best for the future.

Gamemaster's Report

The sim is on it's final legs. The away team has finally made it back from Drazir 4 with the previously captured Adrian. He's currently in sickbay as they attempt to remove the implant that has been attached to the base of his neck which allowed him to be controlled so that he would work in the Centaur mines underground.

A stray shot from Gorgangua's weapon, as he attempted to kill Kep during a transport sequence, has caused a power overload in the organic ships weapon system, which ultimately lead to it's destruction. The Mony got away safely and managed to rescue Gorgangua, who is currently a guest in their brig.

With both Captain Alex Maxart, and Adrian onboard, their mission goals have been accomplished, but of course, there's still the problem of what to do with the Centaur leader and the situation they discovered down on the planet...
