FComm -- Commodore Emma Rouse-Deane, CO, USS Asimov
AFComm -- Captain Tara Manini, CO, Starbase 202

Fleet News and Briefs

Fleet report turnout this month was pretty good, and didn't involve too many threats of torture either - keep it up folks!

Tara is currently hunting for a new XO or she will be publically flogged by the time the next report is due in if she hasn't got one! The Starbase will also need a new GM since Larry is stepping down once a few final threads are concluded in the next week or so. All interested parties, should speak to Tara.

There are plenty of vacancies for junior officers throughout the fleet, so anyone interested in roleplaying in fleet 4 should contact one of our fine CO's and ask for a spot! Go on, you know you want to!

I'd also like to welcome Bob to the Captain's club and of course the CO spot on the Columbus! That means the Columbus is now also in need of an XO!

USS Alliance

CO: Larry Garfield
XO: Ton Geurts
GM: Shalon Hurlbert

CO Report:

The Alliance was moving along at a slow but constant pace for a while, but has recently hit a snag. On the one hand, the CO was hit with a ton of RL and his activity dropped, although hopefully it will be recoving now. On the other, the GM is out due to a family emergency, and is likely to remain so for some time. He is still available on email, fortunately, so we're arranging for him to transfer the mission, with notes, off to another GM as soon as possible. Anyone interested in taking the reigns, please contact me immediately. :-) We also have a few new faces on the crew, and one more coming aboard to fill out the DH roster in the next few days, hopefully. More crew are welcome, though.
Interested parties should drop me a line with a resume.

XO Report:

The CO has a new RL job and a lot a crewmembers with busy RL. Due to RL issues the GM hasn't been able to keep up his usual posting speed. In that perspective posting speed is nice. Hardly any AWOLs.
Edgar Cramer (ltjg Marc Wells - Sec) is doing very well. He deserves an extra chocolate cookie.

GM Report:

[FComm Note] With Shalon having RL difficulties and currently on a LOA/eLOA there's no GM report for this month.

FComm Report:

The Alliance has been in a bit of a slump of late, and has suffered from periods of inactivity in places. With Shalon having some unexpected real life problems that meant he needed to take an immediate LOA, left the ship high and dry and activity suffered as a result. This was especially since no one had a clue on where the sim was heading, so they couldn't make any assumptions and proceed on them. Key staff were also suffering from rl hiccups as well that meant they couldn't try and steer the ship down other avenues to keep themselves occupied.

With a set of mission notes and a suitable GM able to continue where Shalon left off, the Alliance should hopefully be back up to speed in no time.

USS Asimov

CO: Emma Rouse-Deane
XO: Pamela Dugan
GM:Danny Young

CO Report:

The Asimov has finally reached Science Outpost Oxford to pick up our mission advisor before we go and check out this mysterious anomoly that has emerged from the neutral zone. Danny has been doing a great job as our brand spanking new GMT and has been working to keep the majority of the ship occupied - as long as he doesn't damage my paintwork, I don't mind what he breaks On a plus side the crew seem to be responding well to the challenges he is throwing in our direction and are gradually getting used to having a GM steer us again after our GM hiatus the past couple of months.

Activity and roleplaying is of a level I expect from the Azzy, and the entire crew make the Asimov both a pleasure to roleplay on and a stonking good read too! Whilst the sim is picking up pace there's been some impressive character interaction, and the whole crew currently seems to get on pretty well with each other - which always helps!

I'd also like to say welcome aboard to Adam StClair who has come onboard as our new CE! I'm also in need of a few security Junior Officers, so anyone interested should drop me a line!

XO Report:

The activity level on the Asimov is picking up a bit thanks to our new GMT!

As stated above, since we've aquired a new GMT, things have been looking up. Aside from a few on the roster who are on LOA, the posting has been pretty good by all crew.

Several good side sims also going on, between Eddie Cramer and Dallas Daniels, Jr, Bob Hillis and Earl McCune, and Bob Hillis and Emma. Interesting work guys - keep it up :)

The XO needs an Engineering course, badly :).

GM Report:

I have just started with the USS Asimov a few weeks ago as a GMT following a 40+ day long X-mas break. The Asimov detected 2 unidentified ships aproaching at warp with weapons powered up while the Asimov was still in the Orion system. The lead ship had mistaken the Asimov for a disbaled Federation vessel. Once the CO assured the enemy ships that they were fully operational, the ships fled. That little incident was a wake up call for the crew so that they would be ready for the REAL sim. USS Asimov is currently on route to Science Outpost Oxford after recieveing order to report to the Outpost to pick up Lt.Cdr Lanul, a mission specialist. After they arrive and are briefed by the specialist, the USS Asimov will then proceed to Syrus II to conduct reserch on a energy signature. (Syrus II is located 2 parsecs from the Romulan neutral zone.)

FComm Report:

The Asimov is more or less where she should be, activity is fair and the entire crew seem to be well engaged in roleplaying and interaction. I'm also sure we can spare a few pieces of gold pressed latinum to afford a few Engineering courses - especially since that CO needs to go on one too ;-)

USS Columbus

CO:Ralf Steen
XO: Bob Hillis
GM: Stuart Coll

CO Report:

NONE SUBMITTED

XO Report:

Posting levels and participation have been great. We are between sims, so the side-simming has commenced.

As I've stated before, I believe the Columbus has a great ensemble of outstanding RP'ers.

We just finished an outstanding sim. The next promises to be just as exciting since Stu is remaining as our GM.

GM Report:

The sim has concluded! The Renkadi hearing ruled in the favour of the USS Columbus. Fiona Carr and her Nausicaan and Narimdim allies were given over to the Columbus custody. The Renkadi also healed Captain Elxh and left a mysterious box which may hold a clue to the identity of the Renkadi. The Columbus is to return in three weeks to initiate diplomatic relations with them.

It's been a long haul but we've finally gotten here! It's been a great sim to run and the crew have been fantastic. I am really looking forward to running the sequel sim with them all.

FComm Report:

The Columbus is in reasonably fine shape and has a great ensemble of crew - although the CE seems to be somewhat.. demented or insane.. or even both! She has just concluded her sim and is enjoying a small amount of downtime before Stuart begins the next part - of which he has already given a little taster for. I know I for one can't wait!

Activity for the month has been fairly consistant in most areas, although in places, she has been lacking a CO - but Bob has managed to pick up the slack quite nicely!

USS Montgomery

CO: Barret Vogtman
XO: Tara Manini
GM: Patrick Greenwell

CO Report:

Overall the ship is doing well. We are in dire need of a couple active DH's, however. Some of the underlings in are doing a stellar job of making up for their missing leaders. However, being totally DHless is not a good thing for a ship.

I'm currently putting my crew on notice that they need to increase their activity levels. Although overall the ship is moving and doing well, that can be attributed to a core group of about 5 people. And that is well below the standards that I expect.

XO Report:

Right now, we are moving at a fairly fast clip, due to the intensity of the sim. I am impressed at some of the posting that is going on. We definitely have some very gifted people on this ship.
I am thinking that this will keep up for the time being and hopefully well into the future.

All the crew seems to be doing a great job posting. I think that the morale of the ship is quite high right now. I hope that it will continue into the future. I could name names of those that I felt posted the most and the best, but almost everyone on the ship posted constructivly and helped the sim along.

GM Report:

Since the last time the Monty has moved to the planet where the alien ship is orbiting, an away team has beemed over to the ship and is investigating their technology, the flu has spred around the ship, and the Captain is interogating the aliens that evacuated their ship, that now has no life onboard not counting the away team, the aliens aren't really cooperating however, and a tradgedy has happened to CMO who has died from an Unknown virus in her system.

FComm Report:

Viruses, dead bodies, unco-operative aliens, and a Captain who seems to be loosing.. something.. and you've more or less got what is happening on the Monty this month. Patrick's sim is definitely entertaining and for the most part the sim is moving along well. However the roster has been plagued with a few awols, but Barry is currently giving them a kick up the rear end.

Starbase 202

CO: Tara Manini
XO: Vacant
GM: Larry Garfield

CO Report:

The sim is over and we are starting to get ready for the next wave. We are still looking for an XO and a GM as RL issues have gotten in the way of the CO taking care of all the business. Not to worry, but I will have the slots filled in record time. There are several people I will be contacting--promise!
I am very impressed with several of the people on the starbase. John Robert Lucas, Larry Garfield and Cheryl Butler are foremost in my mind. Their level of posting was consistent, strong and helped to further the story. The others on the station seemed to post, albeit infrequently in some cases, but we could definitely use a moral boost on the station. And believe me, I am working on it. I have a few ideas brewing, be afraid...be very afraid!

XO Report:

[FComm Note] No XO report expected, as the Starbase still needs one! Something Tara will have rectified before the next report is due, isn't that right? :-D

GM Report:

This mission did not turn out as well as I had hoped it would. It's been beset by all sorts of problems since it first began many many months ago, most of them personnel related. The planet-side plot has finally completed successfully, although the station-side plot has been stuck in neutral for weeks. There's little more I can do there without simply giving everything away explicitly, so unless the crew manages to figure out the final end of the mystery by the end of the current thread (a week or two at the absolute most), I'm declaring that they lost and I won. :-) I think the weakness of the station-side plot is due in part to its subtlety (I confess it does require paying attention to a lot of pieces of information) and in part to the complete and total lack of IC leadership on the station. (The CO has been with the away team.) The station has been without an XO for the better part of a year, and the few brief periods that there has been a nominal XO the XO has disappeared quickly. To be blunt, there's simply no excuse for a ship missing that important a position for that long, as I know there are qualified people floating about the club, and it has been killing the station.

Either way, I will be stepping down as GM of the station at the end of the mission, as planned, so this will be my last SB202 GM report.

FComm Report:

The planet side of the sim is finally concluded, but the station part is still going nowhere fast. Things of course haven't been helped by the GM being AWOL at times and no obvious leadership taking charge on the station side of things. With the Captain now back onboard SB202, hopefully things can be concluded in the next couple of weeks so that they can start on something new.

Crell

Administrator: Larry Garfield

Active Members: Larry Garfield, Ton Geurts, Amanda Noon, Cherie Mayhew, and Tara Manini.

Administrator Report

Crell is, well, Crell. A small group of people, melodramatic and tongue-in-cheek relationship humor, slow but steady posting, lots of detail, scenes that last for months but you don't care because they're so much fun... just what Crell has always been. :-) I mean to track down a few of our former members who have gone quiet, though, as we could use another posting team or two.
Interested parties contact Larry Garfield.

FComm Report

Crell always runs at a somewhat slower pace than the rest of the fleet, but it substitues speed for very good quality and is generally always a pleasure to read. The current thread involves a spot of either food poisoning or a bad case of an alergic reaction!
