FComm -- Commodore Emma Rouse-Deane, CO, USS Asimov
AFComm -- Captain Tara Manini, CO, Starbase 202

Fleet News and Briefs

First off, I'd like to welcome both Patrick Greenwell and Dallas Daniels Jr to the fleet. They are the new XO's of the Columbus and SB202 respectively. This also means that Tara has completed her last month's mission and is therefore not getting flogged, dagnabbit! ;-)

With the SB sim ended, there's currently a vacancy for a GM in Fleet 4, and we're still more than happy to be taking junior officers throughout the fleet, so have a look around, and see if there's a ship that takes your fancy, then have a chat with the CO!

Tara's Bit:

It seems that as a whole, Fleet 4 is holding together. Everyone seems to genuinely like doing what they are doing and each other. I have not received any e-mails regarding problems, situations or the like. I was very happy at the time of this writing that all situations have been either taken care of at the CO level or not occured at all. Keep up the good work!

USS Alliance

CO: Larry Garfield
XO: Ton Geurts
GM: Ton Geurts

CO Report:

The Alliance has been picking up slowly but steadily of late now that XO Ton Geurts has picked up the GMing reigns. The slump of the past month is not completely over, but is on its way out. The Alliance also welcomes Jeremy Cobain back into the fold as he fills the ship's long-vacant COS position. Hi, Jeremy!

We had a small problem with one JO, James Carter, who seemed unaware of former GM Shalon Hurbert's departure due to a family emergency. Despite being AWOL himself, he posted several inflammatory comments IC on the ship in the course of an IC resignation, then sent similarly insulting and offensive emails to the CO and XO/GM accusing both of gross incompetence and stating his resignation, unless we had any "further comment". He was summarily removed from the ship and fortunately has not returned. I don't expect further trouble, but wanted the incident and him on record as being a less than agreeable individual.

XO Report:

As we have lost our GM to RL problems, the ship has been going rather slow. I have taken on me the task of ending this sim with the notes of Shalon beside my keyboard. Let's hope things will speed up.
Althoug everyone was going slow when we didn't have a GM, Edgar Cramer kept posting on a COS speed, even though he is on a Sec. He deserves a Pat on the Shoulder.

GM Report:

Okay. The ship is running again. Due to the sudden iLOA of Shalon we had to find an other one. When we didn't, Larry decided to take me up on my offer. Let's hope I have more luck

FComm Report:

The loss of Shalon unexpectedly last month due to his unavoidable iLOA slung the Alliance into a very slow patch that she is gradually climbing out of. With Ton having received the sim notes, the mission is finally getting underway and the Alliance has finally arrived at their destination - took them a while, and has been greeted with a planet getting toasted! With a bit of luck, and the mission now progressing, things should pick up to a more acceptable level, although fair play to the crew for coping with the difficult situations that have cropped up this month!

USS Asimov

CO: Emma Rouse-Deane
XO: Pamela Dugan
GM: Danny Young

CO Report:

Activity on the Asimov always tends to be impressive and it's been no exception this month with everyone getting stuck in - either with the sim and initial research or with a array of character development from preganancy complications to dinner dates. There always seems to be something to do or going on.

After picking up our mission advisor, and making progress in the direction of Syrus II, we're currently within 8 hours of a red-yellow blob that is going to be the focus of our attention. Our mission is a simple find out what the energy blob is that has come from the neutral zone - some kind of alien lifeform, or a new weapon devised by the Romulans? I guess we'll find that in due course. Hopefully this first contact mission will go better than our last one - as I have no intention of being arrested! :-D

Danny has come to the end of his 60 day observation period and I'm impressed with how he's been keeping us entertained and the sim he's lined up for us is looking good so far. Of course we're still only getting into it and have a ton of research and investigation laying before us! I've managed to grab a few people to fill up a couple of JO spots (of course I can always fit anyone else in who's interested :-) ) and this month also sees the return of Jeremy Cobain to the ship with his Petty Officer!

All in all it's fair to say we're doing well!

XO Report:

We've been picking up speed since we got the new GM. Seems that things are becoming a bit more lively. With the sim plot added to the side sims that are going on, there's always something for someone to post to :)
Lets see... Our new GM Danny Young, is just doing a great job. Really keeping things interesting.

The Asimov has been through a few rough patches, with losing our GM, and a few DH's - but she's pulled through it, due to a great Captain, and a wonderful crew. They all deserve commendation for keeping things going during the slow times!

GM Report:

Wow, it's already time to do one of these again? OKay here goes! I have been overly impressed with the amount of posting that there has been going on in the last month on the Asimov. Everytime I check the ship (which is daily) I usually come across at least 15-20 new posts, with usually little to no OOC posts. We've also been blessed with really great side sims and excellent character development as well. The crew has been actively participating in the sim, although it is progressing slowly. I hope to speed things up a bit during the next month. We have a few AWOLs on the roster that are starting to catch my eye....they may have to be eliminated :-D. Ill wait to see if they turn up. I also would like to remind everyone that I will have completed day 60 of my training sim tomorrow according to Section 4 of Dugan Edict #12. From here, The CO, GM Mentor and GMD must decide if I have complete the first portion of my sim acceptably. The USS Asimov is currently on route to Syrus II and a senior staff briefing featuring the new Mission Specialist Lieutenant Commander Lanul has just concluded. The crew is about to start initial scans of the sector as well as review the research done by the science team at Outpost Oxford.

AComm Report:

The Asimov has some interesting storylines that seem to be going strong. Quite a bit of drama and emotion has come into play. I am impressed by the quality and quantity of posts on this ship. I am also very interested in seeing how the sim is going to end!

USS Columbus

CO: Bob Hillis
XO: Patrick Greenwell
GM: Stuart Coll

CO Report:

As the new CO of Columbus, I am quite proud of her. As I stated many times in my XO reports, we have an outstanding ensemble of role players onboard. Pat Greenwell has been promoted to XO and is performing quite well.

I currently have one player who is chronically AWOL, but the situation will be handled in short order. We have a very active environment and I expect to keep it that way. The complexity of Stu's sims requires more than a passing interest in the story.

We are just beginning a new sim which plays off our last one. The Columbus is off on a diplomatic mission to meet with a new race we encountered in the last sim. With Stu in the GM seat, we can expect more twists than a roller coaster. No time for boredom!

XO Report:

Right now the crew are picking up from between sims. Posting is ok, nearly no one is AWOL. Posting should pick up when we get the next sim rolling along.
Crew is doing fairly well considering being between sims. Most all of them are occuping themselves with something.
Kinda New at being an XO but hopefully will catch on on this Great ship.

GM Report:

TWell there is very little to say at the moment. The old sim has completed and the new sim has only just started. The Columbus is enroute to rendezvous with the Renkadi and Ambassador Johanna Fforbes-Pryce and her aide Caval Yafe have come onboard. So far that's it as regards the sim. I really enjoy interacting with the Columbus crew and it's always great fun. We were sad to lose Ralf from the Columbus, he shall be missed. On the other hand Bob was a great choice to succeed him and things are going well here. That's all for now.

AComm Report:

The Columbus is between missions right now. It seems that they are going off on a new one as I a write this report. The posters on this ship seem to be strong and the content is of quality. There were several promotions and all seemed to be well deserved. Unfortunately, the loss of Captain Ben Elxh was felt by all but understood. He had been missed quite often of late and we all wish him a speedy recovery! There will always be a place on the Columbus for him.

USS Montgomery

CO: Barret Vogtman
XO: Tara Manini
GM: Patrick Greenwell

CO Report:

NONE SUBMITTED

XO Report:

The activity level has increased with the addition of several prisoners in the brig. Also, the fact that one of them just had something like 20 children certainly helps. I am hoping that this will continue even after this sim.
The Captain and the CIO seem to be very prolific in their questioning and work with the prisoners. The XO isn't too bad either :) In fact, everyone on the ship have been pulling their weight here.
The Monty is still going strong!

GM Report:

Montgomery folks have borded the ship and are finding out about its technologies, Somehow a wormhole has opend inside the ship and some aliens can be seen through it. Meanwhile onboard the Montgomery, an alien mother has given birth and the captain has finished his "interrogation" of the "head" Alien in the airlock, The alien babies are in incubators in sickbay and one isn't looking good at surviving the ordeal.

FComm Report:

The sim on the Montgomery is progressing well, and Patrick is showing just how Stargate obsessed he is. :-D With the alien babies having been born on the Montgomery, and the away team under attack from an alien force that is coming through the alien portal, there's plenty to keep everyone occupied with. Now if only we can get Barry to submit a fleet report :-P

Starbase 202

CO: Tara Manini
XO: Dallas Daniels Jr.
GM: Vacant

CO Report:

We have an XO!!!! I would like to welcome Dallas Daniels Jr. to the SB202 family! He is just beginning but has jumped in with both feet and is doing fine. Our Captain is just wrapping up helping with the delivery of the two newest crewmembers, Rose's newborns. There has been a jump in the action, mainly in the search for our killer! I am proud of everyone on the ship and hope that our long lost AWOLS will come back soon, safe and sound!

XO Report:

I've only been here for a little while, but from what I have seen the activity level is pretty good, though I am interested to see how good they are at the end of the sim. From what I have seen the majority of the crew is doing well, a few others just aren't doing at all, which is something I'm sure will be corrected soon. I really cannot highlight any RPers at this time maybe by the time the next report comes around I'll have a few to talk about ;-) I'm really curious to see how everyone does at the end of the sim as far as character development, and how they far being in between missions. Should be fun ;-)

GM Report:

[FComm Note] The sim on the starbase is over, so there's no need for a GM report this month! The crew are currently engaging in character development

FComm Report:

Tara has saved herself from a flogging by finding an XO, who is doing good so far - welcome aboard, Dallas!. The starbase is doing well activity wise, especially since they are currently self simming. There seems to be more activity now they aren't following a sim than there was last month when they were - go figure. Rose has had her babies, there's a trouble causing Ferengi now onboard, and the crew are generally interacting well together. The roster has had a clean as well, so all in all we're looking better than we have been! Let's keep it up!

Crell

Administrator: Larry Garfield

Active Members: Larry Garfield, Ton Geurts, Amanda Noon, Cherie Mayhew, Tara Manini and Jeremy Cobain.

Administrator Report

Crell is, well, Crell. :-) A small group of people engaging in active, entertaining, oft-pathetically cute relationships that would make a day-time soap opera jealous. As always, though, a few more people would be welcome.

Jeremy Cobain has recently returned to us, and he and I are discussing the possibility of having some sort of coherent action for a change. ;-)
I'm not talking about getting a GM, but some nudging and group activity with a distinctly Crag flavor. Of course, a few more people would be needed before we could pull that off. Applications should be sent to me.

FComm Report

I always enjoy reading Crell and the intricate character development that is undertaken there. This month has been no exception, and the interaction between the core characters is always well written, thoughtout, detailed... and I just love Elliot, who seems to be spending a lot of his time on the floor of late :-D

Quote of the Month

"As with most fine things, chocolate has its season. There is a simple memory aid that you can use to determine whether it is the correct time to order chocolate dishes: any month whose name contains the letter A, E, or U is the proper time for chocolate." -- Sandra Boynton
