Stardate 11052.4...

I've just arrived aboard the Discovery and assumed command. I had expected to reamin on the Columbus for several years, but the deaths of my shel'therth interrupted that plan. My thei, Cholas, was the only survivor of the icequake that claimed the lives of my mates.

11022.7... First Officer Richard Kennedy reporting. I've only just boarded the Discovery, or "the Disco" as it is affectionately called. Already, I'm excited at the prospect of helping to train the next generation of Star Fleet officers. I sound like an old man, and I'm not even thirty yet. My mother might laugh at me if she knew what I was thinking. I know my brothers would laugh. Still, I'm proud that I was chosen for this assignment. And I hope to learn at least as much as I teach.

Stardate 10081.8
As quickly as we went away, Q has returned us to our own little portion of the universe. The entities departed all the effected personnel prior to our return. However, the process of mediating the dispute between the two factions took a heavy toll on Commander Winchester and regrettably his health is not expected to recover. Friends and family are gathering to say their last goodbyes.

For two days we have been in what are navigational charts tell us is the Sombrero galaxy courtesy of Q. The first day we had several glowing entities enter the ship as our SIF began to degrade. We used shield rotation protocols to slow their entry into the ship but inevitably they managed to gain access to the ship. The entities made contact with several crewmembers and it was determined that they were intelligent beings. Just as we were beginning to make first contact another rival group of entities known as the "Harvesters" were discovered to be heading toward the Discovery.

Stardate: 1020.02

I am glad that our crew of cadets have once again returned to the Discovery. They each performed admirably in their roles on board the convoy. A few injuries were reported as a result of the attack by the Orion raiders, but no lives were lost and Mr. Warrick was safely transported to the Grand Jury location where he gave his testimony.

Captain's Personal Log Stardate 1001.08

We have made our rendezvous with the Egan and I've been informed the details of their plan. It has been explained to me that as incredible as it may seem, the Orion Syndicate has operatives working throughout the main fleet. So they have requested for this mission that cadets be used to transport the prisoner.

To complicate matters, they are going to secretly transport their star witness in a transport ship that will be part of a phony trade convoy.

Captain's log 09121.6

We are within moments of arrival of our rendezvous with the Eagan.

The cadets and the rest of the crew have had one drill with only a few problems noted. Mostly a slower response time than I would have preferred.

Only time will tell what the plan for transport is and despite having three days to prepare, I am still apprehensive about taking a group of raw cadets on a mission so vital to ending the plague of the Orion Syndicate on the citizens of the Federation.

Incoming Captain's Personal Log: Star date 0911.24
I am amazed with the speed that the Academy addressed my request to command one of their cadet training ships. After completing a survival training mission on Andor, I was informed of their decision and after much hand pumping and going through the typical dog and pony show so typical of the upper tier of command, I was able to board a shuttle for the Discovery.
