Assistant Librarian position now open
With the STF Library back in business, we now need a new Assistant Librarian!
At this point, the ALib is largely a data entry position. You don't need to know Java or XSLT or ant or any of that sort of thing. There are three primary skill sets you will need:
- Very very comfortable with HTML. The library is not maintained in HTML but in DocBook. However, if you are comfortable with HTML then learning the subset of DocBook that we use is fairly easy. Training will be provided as necessary. Note: If you edit HTML in Dreamweaver or any other graphical tool, then this is not you.
- Familiar and comfortable with the Subversion version control system. I use svn to manage the content and build scripts, and that is how you will be getting it from me. Use of a graphical tool like Tortoise SVN is fine, and encouraged if you are on Windows.
- Either very picky about correctness yourself or able to work with a person and system that is (me). :-)
Send applications to me directly via my contact page. I'll accept applications until 7 December.
