Appearance: Short curly brown hair, blue-grey eyes, small stubble. When in civilian clothing he always dresses dapper and seems to have a large collection of bowties, from which he wears one from time to time. When outside, he has a beige fishing hat he wears everywhere and has admitted to owning a few hawaiian t-shirts.

Career Summary: Since his family didn't restrict his occupation to their desires, Griffin had free reign over what profession to get in to. He was never good at physical activities because of medical problems but it was his intelligence and personality that were his most prominent features. He chose medicine, because it exercised his brilliant mind on top of emphasising his caring nature. Not interested in Starfleet at first, because he viewed it as being to militaristic, he took medicine in a medical university on several scholarships. He interned at a forensic pathology post in Georgia and then took up his residency in a field hospital during the Dominion War, where he saw and treated the horrors of war. After seeing Starfleet medical's care and compassion for their patients, he decided that after his residency he would join. And he did, graduating salutatiorian and taking up two specialities. After graduating, he was assigned to the USS Ogawa.

Background: Griffin was born in Holland ,Michigan but raisedmost of his youth in South Carolina. He has always been a caring, intelligent and mature person, being referred to by many as a "gentleman" and an "old soul". He never was interested in what crazy things kids his age where doing, and was always one step ahead of them. Upon taking up residency at the field hospital, he witnessed what war was all about, and has seemed even more older and mature after that experience then he actually is. But that hasn't kept him from being a joker and loving a good time, but he's found that there is a time and place for everything. In the Academy he was called the "The ol' southern doctor", which he uses to refer to himself at times , even though he's technically from up North. Griffin always seems to have a story to tell, anything said by his comrades can get him going on a long-winded tale that it reminds him of. He enjoys company and has been known to talk to patients in comas, even dead patients, telling them how their manner of death reminds him of this one historical figure or something similiar. When being confronted with light-hearted fools when the situation is a serious one, he won't think twice to give then a piece of his mind, but his underlining compassion for patients wins out every time over his sarcastic and somewhat cynical side.

Medical History:Has pectus escavatum (not bad enough to keep him out of Starfleet, but has his heart displaced and smaller lungs because of it), sydnactylia(fixed)

Physcological History: High intelligence and remarkable memory to remember things in history (to add to his long-winded educated conversations). He can get quite irritatable with people though, especially when cut off or asked to do something that isn't under his specialities (asked to fix an engine, scan an anomoly or tend a bar...he's a doctor!)
