Logan was a Lt. Cmdr. And the Chief Engineer of the USS Radical, a Maverick class dreadnought. The Captain, Executive Officer, Chief of Security, Chief Science Officer, and Counselor all beamed down for an away mission.

While they were gone, a Jen Hadar warship decloaked and attacked the Radical. Logan went to the bridge to relieve the junior officer that had been assigned command. The junior officer refused to relinquish command and ordered Logan back to Engineering.

The situation resolved itself. The away team returned to the ship. That junior officer was made the new chief engineer. Logan found himself demoted to Lt. Jg. He was but was allowed to remain on the Radical in a supporting engineer position.

A year later, he asked for, and was transferred, to Starfleet Special Operations. He was now part of a small but elite squad of Starfleet crew. His team committed acts of espionage and sabatoge against Dominion targets during the Federation-Dominion War.

He was promoted to full Lieutenant, a rank he had held before.
Now he finds himself on the Montgomery, a small destroyer, as Chief Tactical Officer.
