The EGO elections are now live. Please see the Election Ship for the election calendar. It should be remembered that No Campaigning is permitted in any public area of STF, including the #star-fleet IRC channel. Any incidences of campaigning shall result in strict penalties being administered. Discussion in non STF controlled resources is permitted, but it should be noted that if any participant doesn't wish to engage in discussion of the election, the other party must respect these wishes. Penalties for candidate campaigning may include the nullification of their candidacy. Penalties for non candidates may include the revocation of voting priveleges or further Presidential sanctions. Remember, no support messages are permitted in IRC quit messages (this includes negative support messages i.e 'Do not vote for ****') and whilst messages announcing the election are permitted in STF controlled areas, they must not imply support for or against any candidate.

In order to be considered a candidate, an eligible member, which is any member ranked Fleet Captain or higher, must notify the Election Coordinator via email of their intention to stand as a candidate. Emails are only accepted at ec[@]star-fleet.com

At least three standing candidates for the available seats are required. Should three eligible members from the pool of those members ranked Fleet Captain and above not be presented, the Election Coordinator is permitted to expand the pool to include the next lowest rank as outlined in EEEGO.

Each eligible member shall be granted the option to provide up to three votes, one vote for each of their three preferred candidates. Each candidate may only receive a single vote from each voting member. This is to allow the winners to be ranked in order of preference for initial election.

There shall be only a single voting period. At the conclusion of this voting period, the three candidates with the highest number of votes shall be the winners.

Of these three members, the member with the highest number of votes shall serve one full two year term. The member with the second highest number of votes shall serve a 16 month term. The member with the third highest number of votes shall serve an eight month term.
