John and Chantal Shires (Father John - age 58, Mother Chantal - age 44) - both alive and doing well as civilians on Earth managing a farm in Corsicana, Navarro County, Texas.

Siblings:

Alan and Brydie Shires (Brother Alan - 18, Sister Brydie - 25) - both alive and doing well as civilians elsewhere on Earth.

Education:

Black Belt in Shotokan Karate at the age of 13.
Did fairly well in the local school and college obtaining above-average grades in core subjects.
Obtained a 2-1 medical degree.
Starfleet Academy onboard the USS Discovery.

Medical history:

A few bumps and bruises over the years owing to martial arts training, however nothing substantially note-worthy.

Description:

Harry is of medium build and though you wouldn't realise it on a first glance, very flexible and very quick. With dark brown hair with matching eyes, his face is quite genial to behold and is well known to break out into an infectious smile.

Background and other attributes:

Born into a family ranch, Harry grew up in a farming environment as your typical "farm boy," learning the trade, but never loving it.

After seeing a close friend mauled to death by an out of control tractor, Harry decided to turn towards medicine. He had had an interest for a long while, and it tied in with all the martial arts he was doing. While his parents protested, Harry continued in this vein until qualifying as a Doctor at which point his parents disowned him and Harry turned towards Starfleet.

Harry has a strong sense of justice: he hates to see people committing crimes and getting away with them, or receiveing what he believes to be an inadequate sentence.

Harry is claustraphobic and especially hates turbolifts.

Although very informal by nature, Harry is always very serious about his work and does his utmost to work professionally.

Socially, Harry is very shy and feels quite awkward in social situations despite a burning desire to mix in.

Harry is very easily provoked and bad things often happen when someone winds up him the wrong way.

Harry is fascinated with the subject of death.
