He stabbed his comm control with an index finger. =/\=Engineering, we're done with the bunny hops. I need power back to impulse, and put everything you can into shields and structural integrity.=/\=

: : : He looked at his helmsman and dispensed his next set of orders. "Helm, plot course away from the aliens, and away from DS13. Let them close slowly on us - we don't want them giving up and heading for the station. Stand by Warp 1."

: : The ship would not be able to reach the Outpost before it exploded, no, but it was still dangerously close to the Dresden on its present course. All power from the Dresden and Quebec went into its engines to try and fly away from the explosion. Thankfully, as both ships began to explode, their impulse and thruster systems went offline - giving both the Dresden and Quebec precious more seconds to gain distance.

: : The Dresden's attacker self-destructed first. The Dresden was violently hit with turbulence from behind, and it sent the ship into a forward sprawl with inertial dampening systems only partially online. The ship was spinning every which way out of control, meaning the crew would get very, very dizzy unless power could be stabilized.

: "Dresden's hit, sir!" came a shouted report on Quebec's bridge. "She's only got partial interial damping!"

: Another voice: "The ship pursuing us is losing hull integrity!" McCormick perked up at that statement - it was go time.

: : The Quebec's attacker then began to blow, and the Quebec was far closer to its alien ship than the Dresden was. Unless it got out of there quickly, the Quebec would be vapourized.

Zhou stood steadfast on the periphery of the Dresden's bridge watching the situation unfold. The CTO was going to be trouble, he decided. He was surprised that Halloway had let Albright's sarcastic mocking pass so lightly, and he made a mental note to talk to both of them about it later. In the mean time, however, the immediate circumstances required all of their attention.
