Announcement on Starfleet Academy

: Hey everybody,
:
: As you might have guessed from the modt, I'm your new Commandant! I'm looking forward to working with each and every one of you to make this the best department there is in the club! :)
:
: With that said, I wanted to share with you what I will be attempting to foster during my tenure as Commandant.
:
: I was open discussion, that means on this ship we will be discussing all matters. The first thing will be the courses, I want to make sure they are both relevant and helpful as their main purpose is to train people to be gamemasters, engineers, doctors and the like. The first course on my list is the GM Course, but I hope to touch on each and every course before we're through.
:
: That doesn't mean you can't propose other ideas or suggestions, by all means, I welcome it. However, if we have a lot of discussions underway, I may ask if we can hold your idea in reserve until we can do it proper justice in a discussion. Ideas can be proposed either here publicly or you may direct them to my e-mail(located on the main page or via my contact page here: http://www.star-fleet.com/webb/user/203/contact) if you wish to remain anonymous for whatever reason.
:
: While I don't have a specific format in mind for proposals, the command ship has a wonderful format that you are welcome to use. I'm only looking that you have clearly outlined what problem you are addressing and why it is a problem(including any relevant facts you feel are necessary to support your view). If you have a suggestion on a solution, include that, but it's perfectly acceptable to recognize that something is a problem but not have any clue on how to fix it. That's the purpose of discussion, to come up with a solution everyone can accept.
:
: The only thing that I ask is that we attempt to keep the conversation in here professional. To that end, let's all attempt to avoid making posts in anger.
:
: Over the next few days I'm going to get acquainted with everything involved with my job and a few loose ends that need to be addressed, but in the meantime, feel free to begin discussing the GM Course and possible solutions to make it relevant to the purpose it is supposed to serve. :)

: Kat

Congrats Kat! Would you like us to start another thread for the GM Exam discussion?
