Captain's Personal Log Stardate 1001.08

We have made our rendezvous with the Egan and I've been informed the details of their plan. It has been explained to me that as incredible as it may seem, the Orion Syndicate has operatives working throughout the main fleet. So they have requested for this mission that cadets be used to transport the prisoner.

To complicate matters, they are going to secretly transport their star witness in a transport ship that will be part of a phony trade convoy.

I have my reservations about using cadets as the primary crew on this mission and without the direct guidance of a senior officer. But we have our orders.

It is a small consolation that the Discovery will be following the convoy just out of sensor range. I just hope that they don't need us as it is well known that the Syndicate moves with precision, speed and has better intelligence than we do. If they get wind of this effort, they could be in and out with the prisoner before we know they were even here.

In my mind I can't help but suspect that this is all an intricate ruse staged by Warrick to get him out of his prison cell and to a place where his comrades could stage a jail break. When dealing with the Syndicate or members and former members of the Syndicate it is always wise to never underestimate what actions they're willing to take or to take too many things for granted.
