Live from the basement of STF: Uncovered: Jack 'Coyote' Dipper on WeBB OOC Area

Welcome to the Basement Jack, glad you could make it, Lets get cracking!

Please take a seat in the torture chair before we begin, for every question you answer you will get the chance to make your way closer to the basement door to escape.

1) Who is your favourite Star Trek character of all time?

Hmm. I would expect most people would automatically assume Picard, mainly because of my tea drinking habits and my CO using phrases such as 'number one' and 'engage'. However, each character has their own characteristics; Data not knowing when to shut up, Riker losing bits of a ship (or whole ones) when he's left in command, and Troi who crashes the ship whenever she takes the helm. We also have Janeway and her hair, which looks more threatening than a Hirogen with paint on his face, Chakotay, whose plot lines are just plain abysmal, and Seven (whose two rather large attributes don't need pointing out). Not forgetting of course James "Every. Word. Is. A. Sentence." Kirk. As for DS9 and Enterprise, I'm not really a fan of the crew on either of them, however T'Pol does seem to have the same features as Seven.

Anyway, I'm waffling. I guess that people's initial assumption of Picard being my favourite character is correct, however I do like watching Seven roam the corridors of Voyager, especially with some of the camera angles!

2) If you could invite three people, dead or alive, to a dinner party, who would you invite and why?

Now this is a tricky one. I'm actually torn as to whether I go down the 'famous people I would like to meet' route, or the 'friends I haven't seen for ages (or ones I haven't seen at all if they from the online community)'. Seeing that the second one would hold little meaning to the readers, I'll opt for the first.

Well, my first one would have to be Jeri Ryan for the aforementioned attributes should would bring to the table (quite literally). And then I would probably have to go with Stephen Fry and Alan Davies because I just can't get enough of QI.

3) If you had to give up all but one of the following, which would you save: Tea, Star Trek, Computers, your IPhone, Cerberus, Gin?

'Give up Tony (Cerberus)'? You make it sound like I'm addicted to him or something.

Ok, firstly let's strike off gin. Whilst this may surprise some (most) people, I can actually go extended periods (18 hours) without the need to have a single drink of it. Secondly, we can strike off Star Trek, as I also am an avid Stargate fan, so that can placate my thirst for Sci-Fi. As for my iPhone, that can go too - it's a nice thing to have, but I find computers far more useful.

That leaves me with Tea, Computers and Tony. Well, given my job is entirely orientated around computers, I'd be pretty screwed if I had to give them up (I'd also be limited to getting job in maths, as that's pretty much the only non-computer based thing I'm good at and enjoy). With that in mind, the tea will have to go. Also, given that I require a computer to get my daily dose of Cerberus, if I have to give up computers, I give that up by default, so Tony's going to have to come in at second place (although above tea, which is something).

So, I won't be giving up computers; that way I can keep my job. I will, however, have to start liking coffee or get used to having hot chocolate at 8am, as well as drink whiskey, rather than gin. I'd also have to dig my old mobile out, and watch some SG-1, before finding someone else to harass on IRC :D. So, it is doable!

4) If you could live anywhere in the world where would you choose?

I'm not too fussed on location, although I wouldn't mind going to New Zealand. I think, provided that the place is quiet and out in the country, has an internet connection, and a good supermarket (like Waitrose or similar) and a source of gin and Earl Grey tea I would be happy.

5) Who is your favourite character in STF, not including your own?

That's tricky, as I'm only on one ship. I think the best characters I saw was when I did a mirror universe sim on the Asimov and the crew all played their mirror counter parts. It was awesome seeing people play the dark side of their characters. It was also interesting seeing the alternative use Joe made of one of the operating rooms in sickbay.

6) How long have you been a member of STF and how old where you when you joined?

6 years, 7 months, 3 days, 4 minutes and 22 seconds. Ok, the last two I lied about, but I couldn't resist the Dataesque response. As for my age, I was 18.

7) If you weren’t human, which I am assuming you are, what species would you like to be?

Does British count as another species? :-). I guess I would like to be a Trill. I quite like the idea of memories and personalities being passed on ad infinitum.

8) Aluminum or Aluminium?

Aluminium. Although, interestingly, the British chemist that discovered it used alumium initially, and then changed it to aluminum.
It was then suggested that this should be changed to aluminium because aluminum had "a less classical sound". Got to love wikipedia :-)

9) What did you want to grow up to be when you were a child?

Well I wanted to be a maths teacher, as I liked the holidays teachers get.

10) If you were stuck on a desert island what book would you want to have with you?

"Escaping Desert Islands for Dummies".

11) Also what three items would you take with you?

1. Little Nellie (for those Bond fans out there).
2. A parachute (just in case Little Nellie has any problems)
3. My iPhone, so that I can update you all on my escape attempt.

Okay, well Jack, I think you are free to escape this time, just bear in mind, we could come to get you some other time :P

/me unlocks the door and free's the Dippy!
