: : : : : : : I was just wondering why the fleet hasn't had any posted reports in command or even in the archives since october. All the other fleets except for fleet three have all their reports archived through January. I am one of those people who likes to read the fleet reports that are most relevant to me and I happen to be on two other ships in the fleet and I like to read up on how my ships are doing based on the views from the CO and XO of that ship.

: : : : : : : Matthew, XO of the Dresden
: : : : : :
: : : : : : I'm aware of the problem and have put the Fleet on official notice last month. They should be posting a report this month. If not, you'll help me smack them with a wet noodle, right?
: : : : : :
: : : : : : Jen
: : : : :
: : : : : /me wonders how wet and long the noodle is...
: : : : :
: : : : : I would gladly help out. I've already gotten this month's report for the Dresden in so there's also the February reports that are due as well.
: : : :
: : : : I am left wondering how and why this was allowed to happen. As well as who failed to post these reports.

: : :
: : : Folks,
: : :
: : : Firstly, has anyone (besides Jen) actually bothered to email the Fleet Commander to ask "Hey, I'm trying to find the fleet reports. Have you posted them yet?" rather than trying to start a witch hunt in Command? And before people say that they haven't tried to start a witch hunt, I do find the words "I am left wondering... who failed to post these reports" close to that definition.
: : :
: : : This is not an isolated case, and in the last couple of months it has happened a few times, so this post is not purely directed at the original poster. People, however, need to realise that everyone in government has volunteered to spend their own time helping this club and, actually, there are some things in real life that take priority.
: : :
: : : As with any complaint, I would expect the person who has a problem to actually speak to the other person in the first instance whether it's a personal issue or a job related issue (e.g. someone has made a mistake somewhere, or someone has not posted their reports, etc). If that doesn't resolve it, then there is a clear chain of command which should be used. In this instance, should the next person to speak to would be the President.
: : :
: : : I do not often get on my soap box, but I am starting to get niggled by this practice, and I know quite a few members of the cabinet are too, to the point where it is starting to affect their morale. The bottom line is that I disapprove of people airing their complaints/frustrations on the boards. It serves no purpose other than to irritate the other party. If you have a complaint, speak to the person. If that doesn't work, speak to their boss.

: :
: : My comments Jack; where purely an illustration of my thoughts.
: :
: : While I am left wondering how this has happened, and who has failed to post these reports, you are correct it is not an isolated incident. Therefore would it be sensible to review this latest case and see if anything can be learnt from it in order to stop problems reoccurring in the future and more people to get annoyed as a result.
: :
: : I hope this clarifies the situation,

:
: Whilst I appreciate that your comments are an illustration of your thoughts, I agree with Jack here and any comments of such nature should really be addressed in private via email rather than voiced on the boards, there may be underlying reasons as to why these have not been posted and by lynching people in command it is not the right thing to do, as Jack said, quite a few people are getting niggled by this kind of practice.
:
: Right, thats my two pence,
:
:
: Hells

I've nothing to add other than to re-iterate as a past FComm that we do volunteer, occasionally things happen and if they do its the Boss' job to jump on them (Jen that is). Jen replied to it, she's aware of the situation, it need go no further than that on the boards.

Have a problem, lost the email address its here prez[@]star-fleet.com
