Ianthe Xye's Quarters on USS Polaris

The doors hissed open, and Ianthe shuffled inside, her arms weighed down with bags banging against her legs and she dragged herself and them through the into her lounge. After making it over to her chair she dumped her baggage to the floor, spun on her heals and dropped herself straight into it, tipping her head back and letting her arms dangle listlessly over the side of the arms.

Xye had returned from shore leave that she'd used in order to visit a planet Jaileth had come across on one of his many expeditions in his life. He had been doing some freelance work on a planet in the Beta quadrant, and while there, he had become awe-struck by the beautiful vast mountain ranges and the many deep undergound caverns there were to explore. Unfortuantley, as much as Ianthe had wanted to, she could not cope with some of the tight spaces in the caves, but she had decided to go and explore the mountains for herself.

As she sat in her room, smiling as she re-lived the memories she had made for herself and Xye, she was roused by the door chime. "Enter," she called out whilst not moving a muscle.

The doors opened and a tall Vulcan man entered her quarters. The NE came to a stand still just inside the room, staring without expression at the pile of bags sat directly in his path. "Hello J'vol. Miss me?" Ianthe asked.

Choosing to ignore this question J'vol just looked at Xye nonchalantly. "I wondered if you were available for a game of Kal-toh in twelve forward?"

"Sure, just give me a moment to get changed. I need to get into my uniform," she replied getting to her feet and heading for her bedroom. "Have you seen the new chief-engineer at all? I haven't met her yet as i've only just arrived. I plan to drop by engineering and introduce myself and report for my duties before i resume them. So I'll just have one game with you. As soon as i've had something to eat and i've beat you at Kal-toh, I will have to be heading off."

"Your optimism is not logical considering your attempts to win so far have been unsuccessfull, and we have been playing Kal-toh together for many years...."

"Please!" The Lieutenant interupted, "Before you start, I don't need to know how many years we've played, or how many times you have beat me. So don't tell me!" Ianthe had walked back into her lounge and was now stood in front of the Vulcan waiting to leave, making the final adjustments to her uniform. J'vol stood up and looked down at the luggage still sat on the floor, raising a quizical eyebrow. Ianthe caught this look and huffed. "I'll sort it all out later. It's not doing any harm there is it?" she mumbled as she exited the room. J'vol, hands held in front of him, fingers joined at the tips, slowly followed her out of the room and down the corridor.
