: :: The runabout eased through the shuttle bay glowing blue force field, turned slightly and landed gently. The instrument lights gave the pilot, the solo occupant a eerie reflection through the cockpit window. The interior lights slowly illuminated as the craft shutdown and the door hissed while it depressurized and popped open.

: : :The new Chief Engineer placed his personal tote on the deck as he exited. He hesitated inhaling the smells of the Victorious and radiated pure joy at the sounds of the Discovery class vessel. He saw one of the shuttle operators keying his arrive on a PADD.

: : :Th'hon walked up to him. "Ensign, have this runabout serviced and stored. Have this tote taken to my quarters. I am the Victorious' new Chief Engineer, Lieutenant Th'hon Mithril."

: : :"Yes, sir." answered NE Derilium.

: :: Th'hon tapped his comm badge to see if it had been interfaced with the vessel. =A= Engineer Nell to Shuttle bay Two.=A= He hoped to get a briefing and acquainted time on his way to Engineering. If not, he thought he'd visit the CO or XO. He glanced at the shuttle bay force field as it turned opaque and thought about the peaceful silence of the space vacuum outside. This maybe his last quiet moment before he started duty.

:Eventually finding his way down to the proper Shuttle bay, after trying two empty ones on the way, Jorran marched in and greeted his new boss.

:"Hello Sir! I am Lt. JG Jorran Nell, your new lackey." Jorran smirked at his last little remark, he had found that after fighting off Cardassians and repairing the rebellion's ships, that humor was his next best gift. "I hope you had a pleasant flight where would you like to begin?"

Th'hon stared silently at Nell, "Lackey? We will work together and I expect your best as if YOU were Chief. We are fully responsible for this vessel and its crew." He gave him a 'you understand' gesture by raising his head.

He eased up and relaxed his tone, "You know, of course, that Engineering is THE most critical department, with propulsion, structural integrity, MCARS and fresh approaches to innovative cutting edge technology." He half smiled, "I think Engineers run Starfleet... shuttling diplomats, exploring ...and providing firepower as necessary."

"My flight, yes, quite pleasant, I was able to catch up on some reading and technical updates on the Victorious." The specialized airlock door slid open as they entered the shuttlebay vestibule. As they entered the corridor, the door closed behind them with a clunk and a hiss. Now Th'hon's transition between space and vessel was complete.

"Hear that?" Th'hon stood still in the corridor. "I think we're cruising at WARP Factor 4.5 possibly 5." He grinned and then continued to lead.

"We should head to Engineering so I can sync my PADD and get an update on engineering systems' status. In my office you could tell a bit of your self and I about ...me."
