Faith was born in England, Earth, and is the only child of Ellie and Tim Keto.

Faith had a very uneventful, protected childhood. She felt under a lot of pressure from her family to excel in all aspects in her life, but recieved a huge ammount of support from her family. Her parents wanted her to become historians, like they were, and Faith entertained this idea until she was 12.

At the age of 12, Faith was coming home from a school trip to Vulcan when the shuttle carrying the students crashed on a moon. The shuttle was badly damaged, the pilot was killed and her teacher was badly injured. All but left to fend for themselves, Faith and her classmates co-ordinated themselves into teams collecting food and water. Faith refused to join in, deciding instead that she would try to fix the communications systems, which were badly damaged. Within the day, Faith had repaired the comm system enough to get a faint distress call outside the system. The call was intercepted by a passing Starfleet science vessel nearly a week later, which mounted a rescue mission. Faith was commendated by the captain for her ingenuity on the repairs she made. This was the first glimpse of Federation life Faith had, and it is what prompted her to join Starfleet.

After the shuttle crash, Faith spent all her time studying and preparing for the Academy. She allowed herself very limited contact with her peers, and became a social outcast, until her parents and teachers decided that she needed to be encouraged to join in with recreational activities. At 14, Faith joined the school Parrises Squares team, and although she did well on the team, she never really put her heart into it until she got her acceptance letter from the Academy.

Given her early exposure to history, and her interest in engineering, Faith has become somewhat of an expert in the 'evolution' of modern technology. It never fails to amaze her how technology used in the 24th century can be easily traced back to the 20th century, and often even further back then that. She hope to be able to put her expertise to good use during her time in Starfleet.
