: : : : : Snip
: : : : : : : : : The probes and comm links do come through as positive - so long as they are intact. Communications tests come out a bit 'hollow' as though being spoken through a very long tunnel. With that comes a certain number of echoes from it.

: : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : Janice Golding replied to the call. =^= Thank you Apollo. We'll get our engineers on the deflector dish and connect with yours to see if we can't shore things up there. If not we'll use spit and baling wire to hold it together. =^= There was a pause and some coordinates came through . =^= Apollo, these are the coordinates where we will fire the beam if needed. We'll keep station as long as possible. =^=

: : : : : : : : : Janice Golding, Thames CO
: : : : : : :
: : : : : : : OOC: Sorry Gene.
: : : : : OOC: I remember Amanda thwacking me a couple times doing that on my GMT. No worries
: : : : : : :
: : : : : : : IC: "I recommend searching for a tunnel that would allow us entry without being detected", Dan said. Dan turned to the science station and began a scan of the area of the broken up planetoid. Dan searched for a route through the old tunnel system that would provide maximim concealment from the Orions.
: : : : : : :
: : : : : : : Lt. Dan Mason, CSO
: : : : :
: : : : : The Orion presence seemed sporadic and not concentrated. With even the sensors focused it was not giving reliable readings due to the interference. It didn't seem that hard to potentially avoid the Orions there, though it was possible, always possible (thanks to a evil GM) to potentially encounter them.
: : : :
: : : : OOC: But we don't have an evil GM ... we have a kind and loving fluffy Wookie as our GM who would never do anything nasty to us. :D
: : : : : :
: : : : : : =^= Co-ordinates look good. Thanks Thames, stand by. =^= Sharon said.
: : : : : :
: : : : : : Then turning her attention back to the rest of the team, she followed the discussion on the best way in.
: : : : : :
: : : : : : "Yes, I'd agree that the tunnels would be a better route than chancing it through the front door," she agreed. "However, if we find that the tunnels themselves are too heavily guarded, would the planetoid still be structurally safe enough for us to risk creating a few new tunnels of our own? We do have a Horta with us, after all," she suggested, looking at Amicus.

: : : : : : Lt (j.g.) Miller (CE)
: : : : :
: : : : : "True," Chen said thoughtfully.
: : : : :
: : : : : Ronald put up the schematics for the the old outpost and superimposed them on the screen, trying to fit in where they did or did not exist at this time anymore. It looked choppy with a whole region of tunneling scooped out from the breakup of the outpost in that region. However, two entries exposed would provide an entrance. They each would come to a central old turbolift shaft and then down to a small complex of tunnels and chambers. Others were noted that were shown and designated as 'pre-existing unexplored'. They went deeper into the outpost.
: : : : :
: : : : : SJ-GM
: : : :
: : : : "Lieutenants, what do you think? The old turbolift shaft entrance or the 'pre-existing unexplored' entrance? Or, do we have enough people here to go through both?" Geran asked, looking to his Department Heads
: : : :
: : : : - XO
: : :
: : : Dan looked over at Geran and tossed his 2 cents in. "I would go for the unexplored entrance. The entrance to the old turbolift shaft might be closely monitored or even have traps set in it. Plus the parts marked as unexplored might give us an indication of what is of value on this rock. We might stumble upon whatever the Orions are trying to hide."
: : :
: : : Lt. Dan Mason, CSO
: :
: : Geran nodded and waited for the ideas of the other DHs. He looked around and spotted a Vulcan doctor.
: :
: : "Doctor Raylar," he said, nodding to the Vulcan, "I need you to see if there are any diseases that the Orions have that might be deadly for any of us on this mission."
: :
: : - XO
:
: sir cadet dro'an reports as ordered sir.

Terrik nodded to the XO, "Aye Sir. Orion physiology is not a specialty of mine however I have conducted further reading since this mission began. I have found nothing as yet however it is widely known that Orion females have the ability to use pheramones to issue a form of control over human males whilst having adverse effects on females. This is worth bearing in mind if met by a delagation."

Terrik paused for a moment deciding whether his next comment was a breach of protocol or if he was being too strict with himself.

"I would also add if I may that I have been trained as a doctor in the field and that the pheremones from Orions have no effect on Vulcans. Therefore I would like to volunteer myself for the away team. Sir."
