: : : Soon after the Romulan in the quarantine on the Romulan vessel was transported across to the Athena, the call came in from Burnett asking for communications silence for 2 minutes while they attempted to deactivate the cannister from the quantum singularity. Almost certainly they would have been as nervous and anxious as the people were in the engineering section of the Romulan vessel as they hoped that they didn't see the vessel explode. The two minutes passed and the officer who was scanning the ship said, "it's still there, Fleet Captain Wolfe, and the two minutes are up, should I hail them?"

: : Wolfe was never a patient man, and certainly not one who was good at waiting for anything. He spent those two minutes tapping his leg against the side of his throne and chewing what remained of his fingernails as he waited for a response. If this failed, they'd all be dead, including the millions of people on that planet. Worse, it was possible that no one would ever even know what had happened. It was a D'deridex class ship, and it seemed as though all their systems were working normally, they just didn't have any weapons powered up at the moment.
