: : Doctor Antonio Martinez studied the vitals of the Romulan in the stasis chamber. All the vitals showed that he was fine, and free of the infection that struck most of the Romulans on his vessel down. Motioning for the redshirts to be ready, in case it all went pear shaped on him, Doctor Martinez reached out and tapped a few buttons. Everything was reading as it should read and he continued with the procedure to bring the Romulan out of stasis.

: : "So, I am on a Federation vessel, correct?" the Romulan asked.

: : "Is it the USS Athena?" the Romulan asked again.

: : "I need to speak to Fleet Captain Nikolai Andreivich Wolfe," the Romulan said, "tell him, I've got information about the boy, Timmy."

: : "The boy, Timmy," Antonio said, "why would I do that? Why would the captain want to know about a boy named Timmy?"

: : "Not a boy ... the boy," the Romulan corrected the Doctor, "the Fleet Captain was instrumental in his removal a number of years ago. Timmy is in danger. And only the Fleet Captain can save him now. Contact him ... do it!"

: OOC: I'm not entirely sure where we're placing this in terms of timeline, so I'll let you make that decision whether it's before or after the warbird arrives since you know what's going to happen Russ.. I'll just put it under the assumption that it's not when he's on the Bridge talking to the other Romulans.

: He'd expected an update from Medical about the Romulan, but this was certainly quicker than he'd anticipated. Wolfe was going to tap the comm switch on his throne and tell Martinez that he didn't have time to talk to the Romulan and that Louis would be doing it when he heard the name... When it was clarified as 'The' boy and not just 'A' boy, his cheeks darkened as his eyes became saucers. How in the world did a Romulan from a random warbird know anything about a missing child from a far flung Starfleet colony? More importantly, how did that knowledge tie in to what had happened aboard the Romulan warbird. Before Martinez concluded, Wolfe had already sprung from his throne, barking out "Mr Waters, you have the Bridge!" before the turbolift doors closed =^= I'm on my way down now Martinez. Tell Mr Louis to wait for me before he begins any interrogation. =^=

: : Martinez looked at the Romulan and said, "the Captain is unlikely to come running just at your say so. You'll need some proof of what you say. And it had better be good."

: : The Romulan sighed, and said, "we're in this together, Doctor. You've got access to your Federation databases in here?" At a nod, the Romulan continued, "go to your intelligence information and type in my name, R'Imus Lhoell. See what that comes up. Move it ... we have no time to waste."

: He dreaded to think what the Romulan had told him... How could one young man... Young boy, he had to keep reminding himself... Timmy hadn't seemed to age from the pictures he'd seen, which was damned strange in itself.. How could one young boy be involved in the machinations of the Romulan Star Empire and what did any of it have to do with a mission of mercy that was rapidly turning into a murder mystery holonovel?

: He strode into sickbay so fast that the doors almost didn't part quickly enough. His uniform sleeve brushed the parting barriers as he made a beeline straight for Martinez and his captive patient. Without preamble or prevarication, his already bass voice even lower and more harsh than ever, he spoke very quietly and very slowly "I want to know everything you know about that boy and where in the hell he is"

"Don't you recognise me, Nikolai?" the Romulan asked, "If this weren't so vital, I'd be hurt. Oh wait, we never met ... I've been following your career since our paths last crossed ... with great admiration ... Captain of the Draco, Fleet Commander, then Captain of the Athena. A number of years ago, you were in the Marines many many light years from here. A group of Rogue Romulans were running experiments on Federation youngsters ... raising them, forcing them to do unthinkable things. You and I never met ... though we talked over comlines. My name is R'Imus Lhoell. I was instrumental in ensuring the children got out. I was successful in that. I was also responsible for stopping those who would do this to your youngsters. I wasn't as successful with that. To my shame the mastermind behind what happened to the children managed to escape with several of his most trusted personnel. It was indeed a day of shame for Romulan Intelligence. The Tal Shiar had failed in that day. Yes Captain, I was and remain a member of the Tal Shiar. Getting down to cases, because our time, especially if we want to rescue the boy, Timmy, and stop the group is short. Amongst the group we face is one known as Tourian. Tourian is a large individual, who is able to be a perfect copy of anyone he so desires. His method of operation is to kill his target, become them for a while, find out information that supports the mission, and return to his boss. Tourian is also vicious ... but the one who is behind this is even more vicious. In recent times, we have attempted to discover the location of their base, but we have been unsuccessful. We have become aware of civilians from our empire who have disappeared ... carpenters, builders, plumbers and the like. We have simply lost all track of them. The Tal'Shiar has some people of interest that we've been following and we've tracked down some communication ... your name came up, Nikolai, as did that of the boy, Timmy. Current records of that boy indicate that he looks the same as he did when he was on that planet. All those years ago. But how is that possible?"

"Unless he has some kind of defect or abnormality it isn't possible," Martinez said, "a human boy who has lived that many years should have changed considerably physically and emotionally. Maybe Timmy isn't ..." He felt the glower of the Romulan and fell silent.

"We tried tracing the readings to the source, but we were unsuccessful. Wherever they appeared to originate proved to be dead ends. We were being played for fools. Romulans don't like being played for fools, Nikolai. We had learnt of the request that your Federation would be asked to fulfill and I arranged to be assigned to the vessel that would meet the ship from the Federation. When the Senator came on board the Nervosa, I was suspicious. But my concerns were not taken seriously. However, when the disease was spread throughout the ship, I was rushed into that isolation booth and sent into a deep sleep. Hoping that I would be found by your vessel, Nikolai and would meet up with you. Nikolai, I want to stop these people and you must want to get Timmy out of their clutches. They are dangerous people, NIkolai, very dangerous and stopping them would go a long way to securing peace between our two peoples. I have more information for you, but that will come after you agree to this with me."
