: : : : : : : : : The floor gave off a kind of warmth and felt slick, oil like under her gloved hand. But how could this be? The floor looked opaque and the gloves insulated against such cold and heat.

By the records in the tricorder it was not, or had not been found at the time, in the Outpost when it was developed. Though it was a swift development so may not have been noted.

It became apparent that the scanning issues was less the surrounding energy that was first thought and more the nature of the corridor and the metals about them. It frustrated the efforts of the team until they came to what looked to be a triple-leafed closed bulkhead. The center of this triple leaf was what looked to be a potentially dark glassy substance, albeit somewhat dirty. Beyond scans would be a touch hazy though would read the same life signs - nothing clearer though the distance involved was more like about 15 meters at most.

: : : : : : : As certain as Naveen was regarding the Vulcan identification, the technology to Sharon for the construction of the alloy and the new element would suggest that it was significantly beyond that of Vulcan technology - and especially of over a century ago. They may bear certain aesthetic resemblances if you use your imaginations though ..

: : : : : : Todd continued to scan, but he eventually shook his head, "ma'am" he said to Miller, "no luck on identifying the lifescans. They are now approximately 15 metres ahead of us ... behind that bulkhead. It seems to be the tunnel itself that is causing the issues, not the energy around us."

He also scanned the bulkhead in front of them, running it through the database on his tricorder in an attempt to identify what power could have created it. He tried Orion first of all, but he also tried other ones.

Terrik had nothing constructive to add, the panel was as much a mystery to him as the others. He did not agree with Cadet Narvak that it was of either Vulcan or Romulan origin however as he had no way to be certain causing a debate would not serve any purpose.

Examining the three leaf shaped panel, Terrik rubbed it, wondering if any of the apparent grime would move.

"The panel covers the intersection of the bulkhead, could possibly removing the panel its self be a solution?"
