: : : : : : Sharon nodded her head towards her Ensign, still pounding away at his invisible guitar. "That's Copper," she told Chazz. "One of my best engineers, believe it or not," she added with a laugh.

: : : : : : : : “Oh, there are many kinds. But it’s usually more reserved, at least for my family’s get togethers. I heard there were some more rhythmic music elsewhere but… well, I haven’t been out all that much. And I do want to…” She caught herself rambling again, buttoning up as a blush fell over her cheeks.

She overheard her CO referring to her as ‘his new Cadet’ “Lieutenant Miller,” she asked “Is that the CMO Ro Tovan?” She hadn’t seen him yet since she had gotten on board and she did need to get to know him. He will be her boss afterall.

: : : : : : Sharon smiled at the Cadet. "Yep, that's Lieutenant Tovan. Why don't you go over and introduce yourself? He won't bite...I don't think, anyway," she added with a wink.

: : : : : : : It actually surprised Alex that his first notification he received as the new security chief of the Apollo was a party invitation. he had been aboard the Ship, just lurking in the background.....Ok, Buried eyeball deep in cadet field report's for the security dept. of Star fleet academy. Now that he was in charge of security, that task went to some other hapless NE.

: : : : : : : He considered not going. After all, he may have been the cadet's instructor on the phaser range or unarmed combat.... Maybe even small unit tactics. It might feel weird to 'hang out' with former student's. But as the appointed hour neared, Martell found himself standing outside the door dressed in newly replicated loose fitting white shirt, casual trousers and black vest. With a sigh of conjured courage and a nervous run of the finger's through his black hair to make sure it wasn't in his eyes, Alex entered the party.

: : : : : : : Any fears he may have had that he himself was over dressed, vanished at the sight of Foster's 'loud' attire. The counselor seemed to be enjoying himself though as he spoke with other early member's. He didn't recognize anyone right off the bat, but classes came and went so quickly at the academy, it was hard to keep track of every new face.

: : : : : : : Not being of the social butterfly species, Alex instead tuned to the champagne glasses on a nearby tray. It seemed chit-chat with fellow crew mates was going to be harder than giving lessons in a class room.

: : : : : : Noticing the new CoS's eye on the champagne, Sharon did her best job as hostess and held the tray out for him.

: : : : " Uh, Hi." Alex all but blurted and chastised himself mentally. " Alex Martell, The replacement security chief." he said holding out his hand...... the one Sharon would have to shuffle the tray to shake.

: : : : it was an awkwardness that Alex was sure showed in the color of his cheeks.

: : : Still trying to do her best hostess impression, Sharon carefully juggled the tray to her other hand without spilling too much champagne, and then took the new CoS's hand and shook it.

: : Alex was trying to help, but hampered as he was with the delicate glass he gave up. If he kept at this much more, his drink was going to wind up on the front of her little black dress.

: : That wouldn't be a great first impression, as if his performance thus far was any better.

: : Luckily, the CE was dexterous enough to handle the situation and still keep her smile without his help.

: : : "It's good to meet you, Alex," she said warmly. "How are you settling in?"

: : " Well enough I suppose." he replied honestly. " It's been a while since I was in charge of a ship board assignment. Most of my time lately had been earthbound."

: : Alex took a moment to glance around at the other party goers. A Caitian and the loudly dressed individual talked nearby and another individual had staked a claim near the beverage table. The CoS blinked in amusement. Was that caitian's tail swaying to the music?

: : Martell brought his attention back to Miller, for fear he may be accused of ogling at something else entirely. " So this little activity was your idea?" he asked, trying to make conversation.

: : : : : Enil surely had no clue how to attend a typical federation party. At the academy in the sol system he paid no attention and dove with a greedy thirst into the studies. here however on the apollo he was not quite sure, if he had the right excuses. he didn´t want to alienate the people on the ship like he did on the academy. Before he entered Nine forward he straightened his sarong and looked if his toes were clean as well as his sandals. for this occasion he even bother to take out his ceremonial straightblade that he had to craft himself according to tradition on halcyon. he also corrected the fold on his vest where a silken harness held a jewel adorned kindjal knife. it was the first party he attendet in his new life.
: : : : : He took a deep breath and entered and was struck by noise he recognized as music on the second instant. He looked around the room already lost only spotting the doctor and the counselor from before. there rest of the people were totally strange to him. he wished he could have skipped that part and worked the eps relais instead.

: : : Sharon recognised her new Cadet immediately from the photo on his file. She had been meaning to catch up with him for a few days now, but had simply been so busy with the aftermath of the away mission. Taking over a glass of champagne for him she held out her hand to greet him.

: : : "Cadet Bataan, it's good to finally meet you at last," she said, slightly embarrassed that the first time Bataan would be getting a look at his new DH would be when she was at a party and slightly tipsy. "I'm Sharon Miller, Chief Engineer. I'm sorry I haven't had chance to welcome you to the ship before now, but I hope you've settled in okay?"

: Enil saw a well looking lady comming his way and straigtened up and after she introduced herself to him he snapped to attention and saluted. "It´s a pleasure to meet you at last ma´am. and there is nothing to be sorry about, I am already very happy as it is with all the challenges and oppurtunities starfleet has blessed me with." He took her hand she offered him and hesitantly accepted the champaign. "I will put forth more effort to blend in if that is required."

Terrik strode into the room, he hadn't planned on putting in an appearance but had then decided he should make more of an effort to interact with the crew. Spotting Lt. Miller conversing with some felow cadets he made a move to join them.
