Romulan Engineering Section on USS Athena

: : : : "Be wary replacing that drive coil, with the singularity active again and our unfamiliarity with their power distribution systems, you're working on a hot circuit."

: : : : Burnett wished he had spent more time working with Romulan technology, or else learning to read Romulan...though either case didn't exactly fall into the realm of common work for an engineering officer. "Oh well," he thought as he glanced towards the junior officers. "I've warned them, hopefully they are careful." He looked back down at the console, smiling to himself, and continued to tap on his console in an ever failing attempt to decipher the Romulan script.

: : : Tresha took a tool from her kit and pointed to a junction, "We need to disconnect this here and route it..." she indicated, "here." She looked at the others around her, "Just be very careful that you don't touch this." she pointed to the bad coil. "I'll work on the other end." Tresha moved to the next panel over and took the cover off. This was the stuff she lived for, being that propulsion was her speciality.

: : Sira squatted down after pulling out a tool from her kit at her side and began to help them with the drive coil she could feel the almost static feel to the air around them as they worked on the live circuit. Moving over to the first junction that Rai had indicated she began to work on separating it ever wary about coming close to touching something dangerous.

: : Ensign Bi'ran, engineer
:
: Rice assisted Sira until she was nearly done with the re-routing, then stood up and began scanning the unit with his padd.
:
: "Going real well guys. Lt., I'm going to check the impulse manifolds, make sure they are clear."
:
: Ensign Rice, Engineer

"Don't get too fiddley with their propulsion manifolds, their impulse doesn't operate on the same propulsion principles ours does and I'd hate to lose an officer fixing a romulan engine. I don't anticipate us getting this up and running, primarily due to a lack of familirarity, so don't get overly ambitious."

OOC tossing in some realism here...I think repairing a complex subsystem of a technology that's unknown to the federation is a bit reaching...but we can try! :)
