: : : : : : : Having recieved his posting to the USS Athena, Terrik had gone to his quarters to collect his belongings, such as they were. He had very few things of his own aside from his meditation lamp and other similar things, there was little point in his eyes.

: : : : : : : Closing his pack with a sharp click he stood, swinging it onto his shoulder and without looking back into the room he set off down the corridor.

: : : : : : Sharon had purposely kept her schedule free that morning, knowing that Terrik was leaving and that she would want to say goodbye. But typically, just as she had been about to set off for the Vulcan's quarters, planning to give herself at least an hour to quiz him on where he was transferring to and to wish him good luck, there had been a malfunction with the transporter that needed immediate attention.

: : : : : : Finally finished with the repairs, she realised that she was practically out of time and took off across the ship, tearing down the corridors at lightning speed. She arrived at his quarters just as he was leaving.

: : : : : : "Oh, Terrik," she said, slightly out of breath, "I'm so glad I haven't missed you. I wanted to come and say goodbye."

: : : : : Hearing her thundering down the corridor before he saw her, Terrik slowed his step and turned his head.

: : : : : "Hello Sharon." It felt odd addressing her as such, being the first time he had done so that he could recall. "I'd expected that you'd catch me up, I would have made sure to say goodbye anyway. I'm not sure if there is anyone else who I should speak to before I leave, possibly Lt. Tovan."

: : : : Sharon suddenly found that she wasn't sure what to say. She'd never been good at goodbyes, and she didn't think the Vulcan would appreciate an emotional farewell.

: : : : "Take care, Terrik," she finally said. "I'll miss you. You've been a good friend."

: : : The silence was... Uncomfortable. And Terrik appreciated her breaking it.

: : : "Take care Sharon. And thank you." He extended a hand, it seemed appropriate.

: : Sharon took Terrik's hand and held it tightly. "Thank you," she replied. "I'm sure I'll find myself going back to the arboretum whenever I need peace or some space to think." It felt like years ago now that Terrik had introduced her to the wonderful plant-life on the ship, but she had never forgotten it.

: : She turned to leave. "It's a big universe, but who knows, hopefully I'll see you again some day," she said with a smile before heading back down the corridor.

: As if in the 'line' of people, came a thin aged Andorian. "You are quite popular, Ensign," Chen said. "That will become a pleasant thing to get used to I imagine, this new rank."

: He paused then said, "I wish to thank you for your help with my arthritis condition. It has helped. I still feel it, however it is much better than it was." A crooked smile crossed his features. "May not be undertaking any marathons in the short term, however I will be moving much better. Good luck on, did I hear that correctly? The Athena?"

"Inspector Chen, I am glad I could help. As it happens I have left my notes with Lt. Tovan for your treatment. I have been promoted to Lt. (JG) as it happens, and you are quite correct with The Athena. If you require any medical advice or help with your treatment I can be reached there."

Unsure quite as to how he should take his leave of the inspector, Terrik decided to settle for the typical Vulcan way, unusual as it was for him to use. Raising his right hand and splaying his fingers into the Vulcan Salute, "Peace and long life."
