Ce'yeirisan Ha
(Kay-HYEER-ish-ahn A)

World:
The home world 'Nera' is a very old world. It is a class M planet orbiting a dying star. Most of the planet is now covered in glacial ice as planetary cooling has taken effect over the last 3,000 years. Life only exists naturally in the equatorial regions, now. Weather patterns are very much the same all through the seasons as much of it is glacial powered fronts. Much of the planet's population had fled to other systems when their home became engulfed by the 'Great Glacial Doom'. Few have stayed and continued to thrive.

About the Ka'een:
The Ka'een generally stand about 5 feet tall, but their very evolved and dense cellular structure mean they are quite heavy. They have full body armor plating, similar to an exoskeleton found on Terran crabs. In addition, they have an internal skeletal structure similar to humans. As their world has cooled very rapidly on a planetary scale, they have adapted by increasing their internal body temperature to compensate.

One unique feature to the Ka'een is the ability to interface with most technological equipment naturally. Not much is known about this function, as humans have never seen it used. Only heard about it. They can think very fast and very clearly, giving them the human equivalent impression of a genius. This does, however, get them into trouble with the humans and other like-minded races. As a result they keep quiet and often ponder to themselves.

Communicating with other Ka'een from a distance of several light years away is also a mystery to humans. They appear to have an extremely developed telepathic skill never before seen in other beings, maybe with the exception of the beings of the Q Continuum.

Evolution:
The Ka'een started out as a nomadic being living off the land, some 220,000 years ago. Over the years they developed civilisation and technology. Technology got to a point where it did happen to threaten the existance of the Ka'een. However, the Ka'een adapted instead and began to interface naturally with the technology. Due to this, they began to evolve even further, beyond the use or need for it. This was until they needed to leave the planet.

When the 'Great Glacial Doom' began, most of them had fled in search of a new home. Those who stayed developed further abilities, and began to rebuild the planet one tree at a time.

The Ka'een have since evolved back to nature but have found their home planet is essentially doomed. Ce'yeirisan Ha is one of the space faring people that had fled. The planetary population has dwindled in recent years, and now numbers in the tens of thousands.

They are fairly long-lived creatures, mostly pumping around 500 to 600 human years each lifespan. Because the mature very fast after birth, it is possible for a Ka'een to breed from the age of four to about the age of 100. Some have been known to breed later in life. They have no emotional connections with their offspring, which is surprising among researchers.

Religion:
Unlike many other races, the Ka'een have no beliefs in a greater deity. In contrast, they have a similar belief in the Terran Monks - a path to one's enlightenment. Elevation from physical to spiritual form has been witnessed in the past, but not many are 'chosen' to do it.

Ce'yeirisan Ha:
The naming convention is very different than when first read. It is also pronounced different to Terran Standard.

For example:
Ce'; denotes family rank. It is unclear where in the ranks this is, but it is known that other ranks such as De' Fe' and Ze' also exist.

yeirisan; is the being's identification. It is a special arrangement of characters mixing family name and given names together.

Ha; denotes gender. The Ka'een are simple, male and female, Ja and Ha, respectively. Both are pronounced the same: a whispered short "ah".

To pronounce the name in full "Ce'yeirisan Ha" is as follows:
Kay-HYEER-ish-ahn A. The Ha is short and sharp, and must be preceded by a definite silence.

Ce'yeirisan Ha is a very quiet character. She has been around humans most of her life, and has learned Terran standard almost natively. She has been with Star Fleet for nearly ten years now, and has seen many battles and changes throughout the ranks.

She aspires to be a Captain of her own ship one day.

Ce'yeirisan Ha is 277 years old and has born three children, all of which have moved on in their own separate ways.
