Bridge - Athena on USS Athena

: : : : : : : : Casira's brow dipped in deep concentration as she stared at the information being displayed on the screen. "GORBI," she spoke up swiftly to the hologram hanging at her elbow, pointing a slender finger at the flickering numbers "what part of the virus' code do these digits represent? They look distinctly like spacial coordinates!"

: : : : : :
: : : : : : Sarcasm pooled from his tone, as the still irked AI replied "Vell aren't you de klever von.... You must hev been top ov klass in Akademy vid brain like dis... Day are spatial coordinates... A point in space tree point seven trillion kilometres from Romulus. Day are base code functionality."

: : : : : : : Dan watched the exchange between Casira and GORBI. Dan recognized that the numbers did indeed appear to be spatial coordinates, he was just not certain that area was a place he wanted to go.
: : : : : : :
: : : : : : : Dan accessed the cartology database and requested the distance from the ship's current location to those coordinates.
: : : : : :
: : : : : : Current distance at warp seven would take them to the point in question within nineteen minutes.

: : : : : The Caitian might have taken offence at the computer's brash, insulting response, but there would be time for that later...right now she had more important matters to attend to. "Sir," she called urgently over her shoulder towards her DH in the command chair, "the virus code is exhibiting a tracking spacial coordinate variable in it's foundation matrix. It could be that somebody is controlling it remotely from an outside source, and judging by the location of that source, it may be the ship that intercepted the Captain. We may be able to use this data to track and aprehend them."

: : : : Dan nodded toward the Caitian and thanked her for the information. Activating his com badge Dan sent the XO a situation report.

: : :
: : : Stark quickly replied giving the go ahead to search the coordinates given. He and the slower ships in the convoy would join them there at best speed.
: : :
: : : Stark XO
: :
: : Dan acknowledged the XO and turned to the NE at Helm. "Stark has asked that we search the coordinates obtained from the virus code. Adjust course for that heading. Maximum speed."
: :
: : LT. Waters, CSO
:
: The helm officer acknowledged the order and increased their speed to maximum warp. The undamaged warbird, all that remained with sufficient power to keep up with them, increased speed to match. At least they would not be lacking in firepower. They would intercept at this speed within four minutes.
:
: OOC: I'll give a few hours for responses whilst I sleep and then finish this bit off with the arrival tomorrow... This would be good to get ready and stuff.

Deciding that the virus was now considerably less of an issue than it had been a moment before and her skills could be put to much better use elsewhere, Casira launched out of the seat at the Science station as the ship engaged course, darting (with remarkable speed) back across the large room in the direction of the conn pannel towards the bow. The NE who had taken over the position earlier looked a little relieved as she stepped alongside him, relinquishing the position back to her with a slight sigh - apparently he had not counted on piloting the ship into a battle scenario, and did not relish the idea.

As it happened, the situation was new to the Caitian as well. Aside from simulations at the Academy, the closest she had yet come to piloting a ship in anger was duking and weaving through the asteroid belt in the Sol system in her supply shuttle, so a live-fire situation would be quite a step up from that. But if she was in any way afraid of the thought like the NE she replaced, her face showed precisely none of it. She was confident in her abillities, and was swiftly learning the capabillities of the ship at her fingertips, how it moved and what it could do. She was confident she could perform to the best of her abillity in the circumstances...wether that would be enough to make a difference or not was irelevant. All that mattered was the fact that this was why she was here, and she would do her duty to the fullest extent possible.

~Casira
