: : : : : : : : : : : Casira's brow dipped in deep concentration as she stared at the information being displayed on the screen. "GORBI," she spoke up swiftly to the hologram hanging at her elbow, pointing a slender finger at the flickering numbers "what part of the virus' code do these digits represent? They look distinctly like spacial coordinates!"

: : : : : : : : : : : ~Casira
: : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : Sarcasm pooled from his tone, as the still irked AI replied "Vell aren't you de klever von.... You must hev been top ov klass in Akademy vid brain like dis... Day are spatial coordinates... A point in space tree point seven trillion kilometres from Romulus. Day are base code functionality."
: : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : Dan watched the exchange between Casira and GORBI. Dan recognized that the numbers did indeed appear to be spatial coordinates, he was just not certain that area was a place he wanted to go.
: : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : Dan accessed the cartology database and requested the distance from the ship's current location to those coordinates.
: : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : Current distance at warp seven would take them to the point in question within nineteen minutes.

: : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : The Caitian might have taken offence at the computer's brash, insulting response, but there would be time for that later...right now she had more important matters to attend to. "Sir," she called urgently over her shoulder towards her DH in the command chair, "the virus code is exhibiting a tracking spacial coordinate variable in it's foundation matrix. It could be that somebody is controlling it remotely from an outside source, and judging by the location of that source, it may be the ship that intercepted the Captain. We may be able to use this data to track and aprehend them."

: : : : : : :
: : : : : : : Dan nodded toward the Caitian and thanked her for the information. Activating his com badge Dan sent the XO a situation report.
: : : : : : :
: : : : : : : LT. Waters, CSO
: : : : : :
: : : : : : Stark quickly replied giving the go ahead to search the coordinates given. He and the slower ships in the convoy would join them there at best speed.
: : : : : :
: : : : : : Stark XO
: : : : :
: : : : : Dan acknowledged the XO and turned to the NE at Helm. "Stark has asked that we search the coordinates obtained from the virus code. Adjust course for that heading. Maximum speed."
: : : : :
: : : : : LT. Waters, CSO
: : : :
: : : : The helm officer acknowledged the order and increased their speed to maximum warp. The undamaged warbird, all that remained with sufficient power to keep up with them, increased speed to match. At least they would not be lacking in firepower. They would intercept at this speed within four minutes.
: : : :
: : : : OOC: I'll give a few hours for responses whilst I sleep and then finish this bit off with the arrival tomorrow... This would be good to get ready and stuff.

: : :
: : : Deciding that the virus was now considerably less of an issue than it had been a moment before and her skills could be put to much better use elsewhere, Casira launched out of the seat at the Science station as the ship engaged course, darting (with remarkable speed) back across the large room in the direction of the conn pannel towards the bow. The NE who had taken over the position earlier looked a little relieved as she stepped alongside him, relinquishing the position back to her with a slight sigh - apparently he had not counted on piloting the ship into a battle scenario, and did not relish the idea.
: : :
: : : As it happened, the situation was new to the Caitian as well. Aside from simulations at the Academy, the closest she had yet come to piloting a ship in anger was duking and weaving through the asteroid belt in the Sol system in her supply shuttle, so a live-fire situation would be quite a step up from that. But if she was in any way afraid of the thought like the NE she replaced, her face showed precisely none of it. She was confident in her abillities, and was swiftly learning the capabillities of the ship at her fingertips, how it moved and what it could do. She was confident she could perform to the best of her abillity in the circumstances...wether that would be enough to make a difference or not was irelevant. All that mattered was the fact that this was why she was here, and she would do her duty to the fullest extent possible.

: :
: : Dan leaned back in the chair and imagined he could feel the ship turning and speeding off in the new direction. *No chance of feeling much of that* Dan thought, *the inertial dampers prevent almost all that. Not like riding that old truck my grandfather had on his farm when I used to visit.*

:
: As Athena and her cloaked companion came within weapons range of the opposing vessel, it became apparent to the pilots aboard that vessel that they were visible to Athena (all they can see). Their warp speed increased to 9.4 as the cloak dropped to divert energy to the engines. They were now three minutes from their final destination, if the coded instructions in the virus were to be believed... Who knew what was there... Was it better to disrupt their warp travel before they arrived?

"Target vessel incresing velocity," Casira updated the CSO in her deadpan factual tone. "Three minutes until they reach their destination." It seemed the rennegades were not planning to fight after all, but to run...probably a prudent tactic on their part considering the combined might of the two larger vessels bearing down upon them. Still, it did present a more challenging connundrum for the persuing vessels and their crews - just how could they aprehend these unknown hostiles in such a short space of time?
The Lieutenant's computer enhanced mind was already analyzing and listing a host of possible solutions to the problem. "Sir, their ship is relaively small...a carefully placed volley of torpedoes could perhaps disable their shields and engines, however if something were to go wrong the attack could risk injuruing the Captain too." she suggested, speaking precisely but swiftly in view of the limited time window they had. "Alternatively if we matched warp velocities we might be able to lock on with a tractor beam, however their shields could be a hindrence in this regard, and if they tried to escape the graviton shear could severely damage both vessels."
There was perhaps a third option worth considering too, although this would require more reaserch before it could be implemented, and it was doubtful this could be acchived within the given timeframe. Nonetheless she jabbed at her console as she spoke, bringing up the displays she had been looking at earlier of the computer virus which had infected GORBI's systems. Perhaps there was some way of using this virus, or simply the computer link it maintained with the fugitive ship, to their advantage...could they reprogram the bug to attack it's originator's vessel instead, or perhaps use the uplink to hack into their computers and disable them manually? The helm console wasn't really designed for analysis such as this and could not give as detailed readings as the science station at the Bridge's stern, but it would be sufficient for the task at hand, and was the best option given their tight deadline.
The fingers on her left hand became a visual blur as they swiftly played over the controls deconstructing the data and examining it to see if it could be of any use, and the lines of data scrolling up the screen were moving at far too fast a rate for most races to be able to comprehend, yet her neon eyes seemed to be having little trouble taking it all in. It was extremely rare for her to use her abilities in this way in public...currently the situation and her duty required it, so it would be remiss of her to refrain for any personal reticence or discomfort at revealing her nature, however secretly she hoped that the rest of the Bridge crew would be too intent on their own business to notice.
