: : : : As Athena and her cloaked companion came within weapons range of the opposing vessel, it became apparent to the pilots aboard that vessel that they were visible to Athena (all they can see). Their warp speed increased to 9.4 as the cloak dropped to divert energy to the engines. They were now three minutes from their final destination, if the coded instructions in the virus were to be believed... Who knew what was there... Was it better to disrupt their warp travel before they arrived?

: : : "Target vessel incresing velocity," Casira updated the CSO in her deadpan factual tone. "Three minutes until they reach their destination." It seemed the rennegades were not planning to fight after all, but to run...probably a prudent tactic on their part considering the combined might of the two larger vessels bearing down upon them. Still, it did present a more challenging connundrum for the persuing vessels and their crews - just how could they aprehend these unknown hostiles in such a short space of time?
: : :
: : : The Lieutenant's computer enhanced mind was already analyzing and listing a host of possible solutions to the problem. "Sir, their ship is relaively small...a carefully placed volley of torpedoes could perhaps disable their shields and engines, however if something were to go wrong the attack could risk injuruing the Captain too." she suggested, speaking precisely but swiftly in view of the limited time window they had. "Alternatively if we matched warp velocities we might be able to lock on with a tractor beam, however their shields could be a hindrence in this regard, and if they tried to escape the graviton shear could severely damage both vessels."
: : :
: : : There was perhaps a third option worth considering too, although this would require more reaserch before it could be implemented, and it was doubtful this could be acchived within the given timeframe. Nonetheless she jabbed at her console as she spoke, bringing up the displays she had been looking at earlier of the computer virus which had infected GORBI's systems. Perhaps there was some way of using this virus, or simply the computer link it maintained with the fugitive ship, to their advantage...could they reprogram the bug to attack it's originator's vessel instead, or perhaps use the uplink to hack into their computers and disable them manually? The helm console wasn't really designed for analysis such as this and could not give as detailed readings as the science station at the Bridge's stern, but it would be sufficient for the task at hand, and was the best option given their tight deadline.

: : : The fingers on her left hand became a visual blur as they swiftly played over the controls deconstructing the data and examining it to see if it could be of any use, and the lines of data scrolling up the screen were moving at far too fast a rate for most races to be able to comprehend, yet her neon eyes seemed to be having little trouble taking it all in. It was extremely rare for her to use her abilities in this way in public...currently the situation and her duty required it, so it would be remiss of her to refrain for any personal reticence or discomfort at revealing her nature, however secretly she hoped that the rest of the Bridge crew would be too intent on their own business to notice.

: : Dan noticed Casira doing something but could not quite make out what she was doing. "Neither of those two options is acceptable Lieutenant. Both are too risky. Is there anyway to override their computer system and safely bring the ship out of warp?"
: :
: : Dan was getting very nervous and was perspiring a bit. His first and only duty at this point was the safe return of Captain Wolfe to the Athena. Everything else was secondary.

: "Working on another possible alternative right now sir." the Caitian replied as her synthetic eyes continued to scan furiously down the lines of data scrolling across the screen in a blur of color. "Stand by..."
