: : My concern here would be that 2/3 of those are Dreadnoughts.. if people want combat ships (which they undoubtedly will).. there are going to be requests for Heavy Dreadnoughts which in all honesty, it would be hard to refuse with there being just that selection out there.

: I think the idea would be to retire specs as they were replaced, so we should be ok, however, part of our job as the EDept staff should be to push for a balanced allotment of specifications. That may mean suggesting alternatives from time to time as new ships come up.

I've always been very against having more than two dreadnoughts in the club at any time... On balance and given the amount of ships we have, it's just not practical for Starfleet to have that kind of firepower floating around. I've also only ever been in favour of them being in fleets on the borders of Federation space, such as Fleets 5 and 6.

I'd certainly not want to see more at this time... Definately don't want to replace the Pendragon.... love that spec... Though an update might be nice...
