Well, this is the umpteenth report where I say "we should be finishing the sim this month," but people are really starting to lose interest now. I'm considering an abrupt curtain drop, since we're like 95% done anyway.

Brian Richards comes to mind - I spoke about people losing interest above; I don't think I could pay Brian to get bored enough to start slacking.

The sim is going by somewhat slowly. I'm sure that soon things will pick up. Once everyone gets some down time and school is then settled into I'm sure things will be back up to speed. However I am intrigued about the future dealings OP42 will be having with the Romulans and the RFF. Sy has a good storyline going. :)

It's difficult to know what to say when real life first takes away the GM and then the captain... apart from, we box on. A big thanks to all the crew for staying with it as I attempted to fill the gap for poor Andy who's been swamped. I know there are people in the wings waiting to take the CO spot and a new GM is on the way so the future is looking brighter. I'll miss you Andy :(

Well August was a not too great month for the Atlantis. The sim has slowed until near the end, and we lost another one of our great RP'ers. Marcelo, who played the prestigious Roderick Mastleen, had to leave us due to RL. I am really going to miss him around the ship. We are still looking for a CNS. I myself have been bad, with work upping our hours, I was not around this month as much as I should have been. But I am back on the Atlantis, and ready to kick butt. So here is to September being an awesome and memorable month!

As I've only been aboard a short time, I've yet to see the ship and her crew at their best I think. With a change of XO and GM things have been a little slow, though I imagine they will be picking up shortly with a new sim. I've had to enforce a couple of AWOLs but other than that things are running smoothly, if slowly.

Sim overview:
Earth 1912. The crew have discovered that the alien craft that came through the wormhole held 5 people. There are three new names to the Titanic manifest. There is no clues as to where the other two are. The crew is decided on an away mission.

Spotlight(s):
I would like to give out my appreciation to the ENTIRE crew. They have been self simming for a while before I stepped in and have managed to incorporate the side simming into the main story flawlessly. This is a great crew that enjoys taking something and running with it. Thank you ALL!

We've had more than our fair share of LOAs this month and a handful of AWOls as well, but the Rez is still going strong.

Our sim is going along nicely with the investigation of the bombing site. The accused have been extradited to the Resolution and our Medical Staff is doing a bang up job of patching them up. We should be starting some pretrial proceedings, (arraignment, etc.) soon.

Spotlight(s):
So many, so many. Sharon Miller has taken on the role of XO and is doing amazingly well. Kat Dedul is doing a terrific job as CMO, patching up the Ornalie. And Ty Napier, as COS, is keeping us all entertained as always. Great job guys!

Michael has been doing an excellent job as Diplomatic Counsel for the CO. I could see him being very beneficial as an XO. He is a terrific role-player.

It's been a slightly slower month for us due to a few LOA's here and there, but we've managed to keep things progressing nicely and the end of the month is looking a lot more active.

We've had the chance to fill out our roster a little bit by taking on a second JO in all departments, bringing us to two JOs in engineering and science and three in security (to go with our four JAOs). We're still looking for a second medical JO but hope to have that position filled soon.

Spotlight(s):
The whole crew are really pulling together to make the Rez a fantastic ship, so I'd like to give the spotlight to every single person onboard this month.

Although special mentions should go to our newest crewmembers who have fit right in: Jeff Van Zilen, Wail Qasim, Eric Ruiz, Sam Waters, Helen Hosick, Cailean MacLean and...just making it into the tail end of this month, Tyra Schroll.

The ship is still going strong, despite the GM's recent change in routine with school starting. However, the Captain is beaming down to visit the Ornalie, the investigation team is continuing to look under every rock and sickbay is making sure the prisoner's are ready to face trial.

And the XO has invited the whole NE bridge crew to her hot tub for a after trial party:)

Things have really picked up in the sim, however with Kevin having to be gone for days at a time, it can be pretty easy for people to not have much else to do until he can post again. That is not to diminish his reputation at all, he's an excellent GM. Everyone seems to be doing well in characterizing their characters. I love to see back story and their seems to be a lot more of it going on. :)

I'd like to spotlight David Latour who plays Ensign Kathrynn Wilson. He seems to be fitting into his character very well and he is getting active in the sim and side sims as well. Thanks for you dedication David. :)

The sim is taking an interesting turn. The Atavus computer system started to malfunction, resulting in a connection of the entire team's thoughts and feelings. Following this, the borg simulation turning lethal, with the CSO getting a lashing on her leg from a drone. After one of the engineers became stressed, the system shut down, but now, life support has also been shut down, creating quite the predicament for the crew, who are slowly becoming lightheaded due to a lack of oxygen.

A slow rate, due to the summer break which did not forgave the ship, also, due to the approach of the end of the main sim. A last surprise our incredible GM had prepared for us, and a rather relaxed time onboard. A nice side sim, and we are preparing our shore leave on Risa. erm... the inter-sim period, I mean.

Spotlight(s):
I was really impressed by the role playing skills of Lindsay Bayes, which handled this month no less than three different characters in the same time, and who was able to create three particular type of people, well defined. Well done, Linds!

With the CO and GM on LOA for most of the month the sim, that was already close to an end, slowed down rather like a hot summer day under the willow tree. With Ty already having a fairly involved side sim going on I didn’t feel that it would be the wisest thing to attempt to begin another but let the sim threads run along as they might to progress it some, and to see Ty’s side sim unfold. That did have mixed results for activity, and my losing STF access at work (stupid filters) hindered my attention somewhat in my attempts to work within this new time paradigm. However, at month’s end, both Linda and Emily are back and I am thinking that the sim shall be ended soon.

August was a busy month for myself. I managed to break my laptop and had to take a LOA. I am now back up and running and will be checking each ship on a daily basis. There have been a few AWOL's and the ships command crew have taken action on these. Andy Robinson has stepped down as the CO of the Athena and I have opened it to applications. I have a soft spot for the Athena as it was the first ship I held a CO position on and I am looking for the best person for the job. I have had applications from some amazing members and hopefully will have a new CO for the Athena within the next few days.

I would like to thanks Andy for his work with the Athena over the term of his command.

Kendra Kerr is the new AFComm for the fleet, and I will be spending some time with her this month to split the work load between us. Again there were a lot of brilliant applications for the position.
