Fleet One August Report on Starfleet Command

August 2010 Fleet One Report:

It has been an interesting month for Fleet One; with Sidney staying on as FComm 1 and myself being made AFComm it has passed in a blur that seems slightly unreal; Although reality has a habit of sneaking up on you so with my nerves kicking in please find below my first Fleet Report for Fleet One:

SS Bonaventure (Bonnie):

Position: Commanding Officer
Name: TJ Morgan

Crew posting level: 7
Senior staff posting level: 5
Overall ship health: 6

Ship status:
The Bonaventure has been slow this month. However this is to be expected both myself and the XO have been on LOA and the sim has ended, although we will attempt to rectify the situation next month it is quite upsetting to see the recent pace of the Bonnie drop somewhat.

Apart from that the Bonaventure is still a healthy role playing environment, that is packed full of action and fun.

The Bonaventure is currently looking for some Junior Officers, if your interested please feel free to contact me via my contact form displayed on the Bonnie's MOTD.

Position: Executive Officer
Name: Luke Hung

Crew posting level: 8
Senior staff posting level: 8
Overall ship health: 9

Ship status:
The ship is still in excellent shape. The posting has spun down as the mission came to an end. Still the posting rate is good and the roster is full.

AFCOMM Comments:
The Bonaventure has recovered from its temporary slow down last month; However without a date from the new sim to start and some crew disappearing as a result of the start of the new Academic Year and the End of the Summer it will be interesting to see how the Bonaventure reacts.

USS Ark Angel:

Position: Commanding Officer
Name: Greg Hertzsch

Crew posting level: 6
Senior staff posting level: 6
Overall ship health: 6

Ship status:
The asteroids have been destroyed and Deo V is safe for now. But the bacteria that had been found on one of the asteroids appears to have been manufactured for biological warfare. The stage is set for a sequel sim at some point in the future.

We are in between sims now, and as such the ship is docked at the nearest starbase. Our GM, Jason Y. Lee, has stepped down. So we are in need of a new GM.

Overall ship health: 6

Ship status:
We just finished the Sim and were able to save the Deo Colony from multiple asteroid strikes. Posting is doing very well as we have even more new crew. We have a new COS, and CE plus a new Doctor. As always on the AA when we have ups we have downs. Our GM, who has served us very well, has resigned and no replacement has been named. I await the CO's update on that.

Spotlight(s):
Well there are several. We have Eric Ruiz as the CMO who just continues to shine. He has actually been a leading force in the recent recruitment drive. I also want to give a nod to Paul Bertram as the new COS.

Were looking better but could use JO's.

Position: Gamemaster
Name: Jason Y. Lee

Crew posting level: 5
Senior staff posting level: 4
Overall ship health: 3

Sim overview:
The sim has concluded. The Ark Angel managed to destroy the asteroids and avoided the disaster to the colony.

AFCOMM Comments:
The AA seems to be improving; The addition of new crew has sparked some new life into one of STF’s oldest ships….I personally hope this continues and wish the crew all the best in trying to make this a reality.

USS Aztec:

Position: Commanding Officer
Name: Kenson Koh

Crew posting level: 3
Senior staff posting level: 3
Overall ship health: 5

Ship status:
Again, the ship has seen members leaving and AWOLing. After cleaning up the roster, we are down to 9, with two new members who have yet to post. The CE had been ill and was AWOL for about ten days. She has since returned. FComm has offered help and we are now working to shore up numbers. At the moment, we have 2 Command, 4 DH, 1 scientist (regular poster) and 2 new JOs. From the looks of things, we will be left with 7 in the end. We had crew members before who checked in everyday but were disappointed when they had to wait 2 days for a reply. They eventually lost interest and left. With the lack of JOs, starting side sims was almost impossible. Fleet Command and Ship Command would be working to help turn the ship around.

Crew posting level: 4
Senior staff posting level: 4
Overall ship health: 4

Sim overview:
The Aztec is now at the Klingon border waiting for their escort.

AFCOMM Comments:
The Aztec over the next month will be receiving extensive help from myself and the FComm (Sidney Parker), who will co-ordinate with the CO, XO and GM and try to get the ship back on track, through our new ship assistance scheme (that was announced to the CO’s and XO’s earlier this month and is mentioned under Final Comments below in greater detail).

Hopefully a new influx of crew and our assistance can turn the ship around and bring back the previous glory and posting excellence the Aztec is known for.

USS Ogawa:

Position: Commanding Officer & Gamemaster
Name: Alex Lorien

Crew posting level: 5
Senior staff posting level: 5
Overall ship health: 5

Ship status:
Bit of a drop from last month, which is unfortunate, but not so bad that it's not fixable. Recruitment will still solve a lot of the problems we have had, though I am always reluctant to bring onboard people I don't know. Some of the new crew we have had aren't performing the best, but with coaching I think we can sort that soon. In regards to sim, we are still in the very beginning. By next month I hope to have everyone involved in it.

AFCOMM Comments:
The Ogawa seems to be moving at a fair pace, but with the recent departure of the XO, and the sim only just beginning posting has fallen somewhat…hopefully the new crew Alex has recruited combined with his excellent GM skills will see the ship back on track in no time.

USS Valkyrie:

Position: Commanding Officer

Position: Executive Officer
Name: Samuel Bibb

Crew posting level: 7
Senior staff posting level: 6
Overall ship health: 7

Ship status:
Ships status is improving slowly but surely. In terms of actual sim progress, we are still in the Infinity Lounge (as previous report).. I'm a little concerned that we haven't yet moved on from there, but I'm sure we will do soon and get into the main sim.

In other news, August has seen a number of JOs joining the Valkyrie's roster, all of which I'm sure will thoroughly enjoy their time with us and of course contributing to improving the Valkyrie :)

We are currently waiting for promotions to finish before my farewell sim kicks off :)

AFCOMM Comments:
The Valkyrie is moving along nicely; while there has been some slight disruptions to the ship over the last month, I can see the ship getting better and better over the next month.

USS Victorious:

Position: Commanding Officer

Position: Executive Officer
Name: Tyra Schroll

Crew posting level: 6
Senior staff posting level: 6
Overall ship health: 7

Ship status:
We are getting ready to start our new sim with Nick V at the controls. I look forward to seeing what he has planned with us. The Vicki is picking back up after the end of summer slump. The crew is making sure that they are remaining within the AWOL limits and we have a good group of writers.

Sim overview: (Report by GMM)
Nick has made an interesting sim, though it's been a little slow to start. He's only started his second or third week of his sim and the crew are now meeting to discuss the mission.

AFCOMM Comments:
The Victorious seems to be running along nicely…without any issues; The GMT is putting on a display that I believe will interest the crew and draw them in the coming weeks which should see the Victorious posting rate increase.

AFComm 1’s Final Comments:

Fleet One seems to be in good shape overall, with myself and Sidney monitoring LOA’s and AWOL’s of the Command Staff and taking a more proactive approach to make sure the Fleet is in a good health I can only see Fleet One improving.

Our new Ship Assistance Scheme, where one of us or both will join a struggling ship on a temporary basis and assist the Command Staff with advice, ideas and new crew, is being tested out on the Aztec and hopefully next month we will see whether it has worked or not.

My first Fleet Report as AFComm 1 is nearly concluded, all that is left is for me to say is:

That is that. The End.

TJ Morgan
{AFComm 1}
