First Officers Log: Stardate: 07121.5

With the Captain on Emergency Leave, I have taken command of the Athena. The crew is performing exceptionaly well and I am proud to serve with them. It is an honor to serve with my crew and I look forward to continuing to serve with them.
The Athena is currently chasing pirates who have been raiding freighters and star ports around this star system. We are tracking a pirate ship that should lead us to their main base. We must be careful not to fall into an ambush.

Having just taken over this vessel I have been getting accustomed to the crew as well as the ship.

From what I have seen they are an outstanding crew on a first rate ship.

Captain's Log: Stardate: 05031.3

First Officer reporting. . .

While the Captain deals with local authorities and maintains contact with Starfleet Command, I have found myself in temporary command of the Athena. Ship and crew report ready. I have notified the command crew of this event and made certain Second Officer Taylor is in the right position to supplement my experience in any event.

The Triari have made contact, slightly ahead of schedule, and we find ourselves in the position of knowing too much about the risks of the present situation without knowing the reasons for it. That in itself may be more dangerous than going in blind, because any opinions we already have are apt to color our judgment, and might indeed conflict with Starfleet policy if this is in fact an internal power struggle. I cannot help but feel we are almost receiving too much help from the Triari--and wonder what their unseen motives may be.

Captain's Log: Stardate: 05011.0

The Athena has been ordered to escort Triarian trade vessles. The primary mission is to make sure the ships, which have been attack and some disappeared, make it to their destination safely. We are preparing to depart.

The Crew seems to be adjusting as best they can. There are a number of command changes, but all in all the morale is up. I will report more on our mission as it happens.

Captain's Log: Stardate: 04120.9

The Athena has docked for repairs. The former CO, Commadore Speck has made his departure for Star Fleet Headquarters. I have assumed command of the vessel. The first officer perished in the last mission. Star Fleet has sent a new officer who should arrive shortly. The new CMO has already boarded and is heading to sickbay as I speak.

The ship was badly damaged in its last mission, but I am assured by the crews on the Star Base that the repairs will take no longer then a few days. The Athena crew, however, has lost a lot of fellow comrades. I am making the arrangements for a memorial service on Observation Deck as soon as it is repaired.
