: : : : : : : : : : : : : <SNIP>
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : The computer obediently did so .. the mine disappearing in a twinkle of lights and reappearing in the science lab.
: : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : SJ-GM
: : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : Dan made his way down to the science lab and hustled inside. Dan hustled over to the storage room and removed something that he had been working on for the last few months. It was a motorized utility cart that had been modified with robotic arms and hands. Dan attached a cutting laser and an imaging device that worked on ultrasound. Utilizing the controller Dan moved the cart over by the containment field.
: : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : =^= "Computer. Reinitiate the containment field around the mine. Expand field area by 2.5 meters to include the cart inside the field." =^=
: : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : Lt. Dan Mason, CSO
: : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : The field dissolved and then reappeared further out as requested. One of the engine thrusters flashed for a microsecond sending it into a sideways spin that ended with it clanging against the side of the cart that Dan had sent inside. Small trails of smoke wafted from the engine. It rocked for some seconds before once more becoming still.

: : : : : : : : : : : : SJ-GM
: : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : Dan pulled out his PADD and instructed the machine to begin a detailed scan of the torpedo using the ultrasound imaging and to construct a 3D image of the internal circuits and connectors. Dan added instructions for the image to hightlight the power supply in green and to display the paths of electrical flow in blue.
: : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : Lt. Dan Mason, CSO
: : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : The 3D imaging did come up in time. The power supply was a hardware block that had many connections issuing out from it. It was showing that it had power to it though it was a fraction of what it likely was, accompanied with the messed up brain of the torpedo, what power was drawn from it was terribly sporadic.
: : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : SJ-Gm
: : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : Dan instructed the machine to activate the cutting laser and remove the casing over the power supply of the torpedo.
: : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : Lt. Dan Mason, CSO
: : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : Which it did - and which to Dan's waiting eyes it seemed to take a great deal of time to undertake, where it was not any longer than normal. The casing was carefully lifted off.
: : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : SJ-GM
: : : : : : :
: : : : : : : Dan watched and waited for what felt like an eternity although it was just a few moments. After looking at the internal components Dan instructed the machine to dissconnect the power supply.
: : : : : : :
: : : : : : : Lt. Dan Mason, CSO
: : : : : :
: : : : : : The machine attempted to do so as much as it was able to do, though in the end it reported back. =^= Unable to comply. Modular digit manipulation unable to reach the appropriate disconnect. Require human interface. =^=
: : : : : :
: : : : : : SJ-GM
: : : : :
: : : : : Dan cursed under his breath as he heard the response. Dan thought *That's what I get, I guess, for buying those parts from a traveling Ferengi salesman.* Dan shook his head as he realized there was only going to be one way to remove the power supply and it wasn't completely safe.
: : : : :
: : : : : Dan nervously toyed with the neck line of his starfleet uniform for a few seconds before saying. =^= "Computer. Disengage containment field." =^=
: : : : :
: : : : : Lt. Dan Mason, CSO
: : : :
: : : : ==/\== Lt. Mason, Skye here from the bridge. We have the go-ahead from the Captain to engage the mine-to-mine communications scrambling from what we have learned from the encryption/decryption data. Since we are not entirely sure what will happen once the mine to mine communication is disrupted, I wanted to make sure you were notified first and secure down there in the lab. Skye, Standing by ==/\==
: : : :
: : : : OOC: sorry for the bad timing , Colyn
: : : :
: : : : Cadet Colyn Skye, Science
: : :
: : : Dan's eyes squinted as he listened to the message. For a minute or two Dan just stood and stared at the torpedo. Finally Dan tapped his combadge, =/\= Acknowledged Cadet Skye. Thank you." =/\=
: : :
: : : =^= "Computer. Cancel request to disengage the containment field." =^=
: : :
: : : Lt. Dan Mason, CSO
: :
: : ==/\== Be careful down there Sir. Initiating transmission interference sequence now ==/\== Skye proceeded to notify the Captain that the Science lab was secure and activated the sequence to disrupt mine-to-mine communication.
: :
: : OOC: see bridge thread for dialog and activation procedure
: :
: : Cadet Colyn Skye, Science
:
: =/\= "Very good Cadet Skye. Keep me posted." =/\=
:
: Dan looked around for a place to sit. Spotting a chair Dan made his way over to it and sat down. Dan hoped things would go as planned and it would be a smooth ride.

: Lt. Dan Mason, CSO

OOC: Just a bump to keep this on the page.
Dan
