: : : : : : : Amy took the lift to deck 1 and as she stepped off, she straightened her uniform and rang the chime to the CO's ready room. Her first stop in the check in process. Meeting the new CO. Amy was calm as she usually was and waited for the acknowledgement to enter the room.

: : : : : : Atwood sat behind his desk rubbing his eyes. He'd just finished reading more reports than he cared to read . Upon hearing the chime he was more than happy at the thought of another human being to converse with. Getting up as the chime rang he walked toward the replicator and yelled"Come !" as he waited for a cup of coffee to appear.

: : : : : Amy walked in "Captain Atwood, Lt Amy Prescott reporting for duty." She said as she handed the PaDD with her transfer orders to him "I'm glad to be aboard the Viking sir." She said honestly "I was getting a bit bored being on land." She said with a smile.

: : : : Atwood took the PaDD and looked at Amy with a dubious look in his eye . Not that he didn't think that women couldn't make good engineers. He was sure they could. It was pretty much just engineers in general he was having a problem with at the moment.
: : : : "I've heard the glad to be aboard speech from my last two CE's ."he said . We've got a lot wrong with this ship chief. And since we've just received orders which will put us in harms way I need everything fixed yesterday. I need structural integrity as good as it can get and I need all the shields working like they were new. Other than that I'm sure if you run some diagnostics programs you'll find plenty to do on your own. " Looking at Amy with a barely suppressed smile Bill said ,"Still glad to be aboard?"

: : : Amy smiled "I've already seen the list of repairs and I've got teams on them. I'll have structural integrity as high as I can by the end of the day. Shields and weapons will be good to go by tomorrow morning." Amy said "I've got diagnostics running right now and will know more about what needs to be repaired by the time I get back to main engineering."

: : : She looked at Atwood "To answer your question, yes I'm still glad to be aboard. This is going to be a challenge and I hope to prove to you that I can get this ship up and running again in a short period of time."

: : Atwood eyed Amy for a moment before saying ,"By god I think you might do . If you need anything or just want a cup of coffee or some jellybeans feel free to drop by. "

: Amy nodded "I'll take you up on that. And if you ever want some home cooked food, stop by my quarters or office. My husband is a chef and keeps me well fed." She said "He was given approval to come aboard with me so there will be plenty of food." She said.

: "I'll get an update to you and the XO within the hour about the length of repairs and a timeline of when they will be done." Amy said, making a note on the PaDD "Anything else that you need me to focus on?"

"None that I can think of Chief ," Atwood responded, but tel your husband I may take you up on that offer of yours sometime."
