: : She sat back, debating how to proceed. "Look Foster, I'm going to be straight with you. I don't have the patience for games which means I've got a reputation around here as being harsh and uncompromising. It's true of the time, but I'm also fair. You're going to spend more time with me than most people care too and you'll learn very quickly that I don't demand of others what I don't demand of myself." She smiled ever so slightly. "But… I'm not a mean person by nature. I am someone who has bad days like the next. Unfortunately it seems I've had more bad days then good lately, so your job is to help change that before some poor sap makes one too many mistakes and I lose it. Deal?"

: Jack listened to every word. He sat back too, relaxing slightly as he considered his next response.
: "So you want me to be your counselor/public relations officer, or entertainer? That isn't my job, I'm here as an assistant, though please clarify on what it is you want me to do exactly?" He asked her patiently.

Carmen frowned, feeling irritated. "I want you to help me do my job, not baby-sit Foster," she said dryly. "Those bad days I've been mentioning? Those are a result of people not doing what they're supposed to and my having to chase after them, or else murders and break-ins that happen on or near the station. We've got the possibility that the Seetha are creating problems again and issues of our own right here on 202. This leads to very, very long days with little sleep. And the stress makes me want to unwind with a good drink, but I promised the CMO I'd be careful with the new kidneys she grew for me and did surgery to place in my body, so I'm trying to be good." She gazed at him with an expectant look, as if to ask if that answered his question.
