: : : : : The Ensign in charge of the detail was totally nonplussed at the Ambassadors behavior. He was just supposed to stand there, look pretty, wait for the higher ups to greet the Ambassador and then go have a beer with his friends.
: : : : : He felt the .. whatever that was through his shirt and his eyes darted about nervously. He gulped and reminded himself that he couldn't look bad in front of his men. And if he messed up something this easy Lieutenant Milligan would have him counting the scuffs in the security office floor . "Um .. ma'am ," he began. "My name is Ensign Wright and .. well yes Ambassador I am in charge of this detail. "
: : : : :
: : : : : A frightened Ensign Wright
: : : :
: : : : At hearing his name, she removed her hand from his chest. Her intentions were not meant to frighten him. She simply greeted him in the custom of her people. "Ensign Wright. I would like you and your detail to give me a tour of the Starbase." A blueish tint rushed into her cheeks. "I-I have never been on a space station before...It is very new, and strange." She spoke lowly, for his ears alone. She didn't want everyone thinking her inexperienced. All the gentleman in the escort looked to be around her age, maybe a bit older but not by much. It made her feel slightly more at ease. Spotting the Ferengi again she couldn't help but point. "He is an alien too...but different from you. What is he?"
: : : :
: : : : "Mistress Kis'ka that is enough. You may have a tour of the station after you have met with the commanding officers and been escorted to your quarters." Tra'sa's voice was stern as she stepped down to the Ambassador's side.
: : : :
: : : : "I guess seeing the station will have to wait. May I be escorted to the one in charge?" She laced her hands together and stood by politely.

: : : The Ensign relaxed somewhat at hearing the young girl whisper to him that she'd never been to a space station before. And then when he smiled at her remark about the Ferenghi he began to explain to her but was cut off by the older woman. He didn't quite understand the relationship between the two but it was pretty obvious at this point the the older woman had the final word in matters.
: : :
: : : "Indeed Ambassador , at once." Wright said coming back to attention as his men formed up around the two women and led them out toward the Captains office.
: : :
: : : Ensign Wright
: :
: : Kis'ka inclined her head. "Thank you Ensign Wright." With Tra'sa at her side, they began walking. As they passed the Ferengi she couldn't resist staring at him. But other beings were staring at her and her lavender skin, and the six circles on her forehead. The Guard walked in silence. Not for the first time she felt utterly alone in the world. Not even Tra'sa's presence brought her comfort. There were no trees here, no soil and grass. Everything was synthetic or metal. The starbase was like a hollow city suspended in the hands of the Gods.

Nem saw her stare and he could more than understand, he was used to it. He had been the only Ferengi on Bajor throughout his childhood, at least in his community. Sure, other Ferengi lived and would visit DS9 but not many actually came down to Bajor.

: : But she must be brave. Her sickly parents had sent her on an important mission that might change everything on Indara. No more war with the Genze, increased trade with other planets. Certainly her home world had something to offer the Federation of Planets. She had a feeling that her persuasive argument might land them in good standing.

: : As they came up to the Captain's office, Kis'ka once again felt butterflies in her stomach. She didn't know what to expect. With a show of dignity she didn't entirely feel, the young Ambassador walked up to the doors and heard a chime go off. She exchanged a look with Tra'sa but said nothing. The older woman smiled gently and nodded.

: OOC: Actually the station isn't all metal and gunplate coloring such as DS9. It is actually a more natural setting. Here are the specs hon:) http://www.star-fleet.com/library/bookshelf/tm/starbase202.html

"Um, Ambassador, I recognize that you have an important meeting with the Captain, however, I was hoping to request your audience afterwards as a representative of the Ferengi people." he decided to try and gain an audience he just hoped he didn't offend.
