It was luxurious and indulgent especially for him, a person who due to his faith and his years of deprivation had looked on any enjoyment as a little too much fun. His internment at the Cardassian facility on Bajor had also created his very calm demeanorD which also lead to his lack of stress and by proxy his lack of a need for recreation.

: : : : : : : : : : Nicia was sitting on a side chair next to Captain's chair and looked up at hearing Kolar's voice. She stood up, relinquishing control to him. Gratefully. She wasn't accustomed to being in charge on the Bridge. "I believe everything is running smoothly and quietly, Sir." No one had reported otherwise while she'd been there. Slowly Nicia lowered herself back in her chair. Someone else might have something worth reporting and she left it open for one of the Ensigns or other officers to inform Kolar of anything.

: : : : : : : : The smile was reassuring and helped to ease some of her personal anxiety. In truth nothing had happened since she had arrived on the Bridge. She wanted to spend more time there instead of her office. But that also meant being in command, something she wasn't confident about yet. An Ensign at the science station cleared his throat and turned. "New images from the stellar cartography lab of this sector have been processed, Sir. Several nebulae and star clusters."

: : : : : : : : "Yes Sir." Ensign Lee turned back to his station, pressed a buttons on the panel and turned to see a large purple and pink nebula appear on the main viewer. No matter how many times she had seen regions of space like this, their sublime nature always took her breath away. Ensign Lee allowed the images to change as they looked at one picture after another.

: : : : "Ah, I see." She smiled and looked back to the images with visible enjoyment. She didn't get to see much of what the Science Department was up to. Such images awed and inspired her.

: "Watching, spores, mold, and fungi grow isn't quite as awe inspiring." Kolar dropped into the command chair. He only recently started using the chair as he was typically outranked by the other officers on board and he wasn't a huge fan of symbols of authority. Not to mention he viewed himself as a simple scientist... though that was changing as he found many on the ship undisciplined.

Having come to that conclusion, she put on a uniform and made her way there. She was surprised to see that he wasn't on the bridge when she arrived. Sitting in her own seat instead of the center chair, routine took over and she asked for a report.

: "Sir." Kolar stood from the command chair. Well that wasn't long. "Just a quite shift" He glanced down at the chair, quietly questioning if she was assuming command.

: : : She noticed fleetingly that the images were stunning, but where was Sid? Shirazi idly tapped her fingers rhythmically on the arm of her chair while chewing on her lip. She really needed to find him---to know he was alright. Maybe she could be nonchalant..."Has anyone seen the Captain lately?"
