Unaware of the distressed ship's calling for help, Acel'ex simply resumed his routine duties, seeing to any and all complaints and reports, that his PaDD received. He was more than happy to be able to handle the usual petty theft and sporadic disturbance calls.

Her mind tumbled over possibilities, and probabilities. The Chief seemed less concerned, and it was up to her to follow through on the matter. As she watched the Chief return to his rounds she shook her head a little, then immediately regretted it. Her head throbbed painfully from the motion, causing her to groan in discomfort. Her hand unconsciously went to the rather large bump near her hairline from where her head had caromed off her workstation earlier in the day when the docking ring was blown up.

: : : : : : : : : : : Maria slowly worked her way up onto the bed, grimacing a little, now that she paid attention to the damage. "When the docking ring exploded, I was thrown forward into my console in the security station. My head banged off of it pretty hard. I think I heard a ringing in my ears for a little bit, and I've had bouts of dizziness, little ones, here and there. If it were a normal day, I'd have come in immediately, but there were other concerns. I figure I've had worse in training and in Nationals. I also was supposed to check in today anyway for my post arrival physical. So I guess I was destined to wind up in Sickbay today, one way or another," she said, finishing with a sheepish grin.

She immediately regretted the move, as pain shot all up and down her neck and back. The tricorder itself would show mild fascia damage along the neck. There was a hairline fracture along the right eye and up along the hair line itself. Some subdural hematoma had formed in the region in the meninges. Nothing super serious, since it had been caught early enough and seemed to be progressing slowly. "No, nothing that I can remember, other than things that needed nothing more than a little bit of time. "

: : : : : : : : Paige turned and picked up a regenerator and began treating the subdural hematoma and the injuries to her neck and eye. She administered a pain reliever "Just lay back and relax for a little while." She said "I'll come and check on you in a little bit."

: : : : : : : Maria groaned but then giggled a little, before slowly lowering herself onto her back on the bio bed. "I thought it was bad when I was on the Karate and Taekwondo team in the Academy and I caught a right roundhouse kick to the head from Jimmy Cooper," she muttered to herself mostly. The pain was quickly fading, and before long she felt herself being dragged down towards the dark and comfy pit of sleep. It was a combination of the medication as well as the adrenaline crash. After any operation or emergency there is a period afterward of tiredness. Stress is one of the greatest sudden effectors of fatigue, as well as coming down from the fight or flight response. Soon she was drifting in and out of consciousness on the bed, almost catnapping, but comfortable.

: : : : : Before long Maria groaned as she was coming around. Immediately she noticed the nausea and dizziness had vanished, and her head no longer throbbed. The regenerator was still attached, but seemed to be finishing the last of its routines as she slowly pushed herself up to a sitting position. Her neck was a little stiff, but that seemed to be fading as she rubbed at it, and rolled her head around some. Slowly she looked around for Valerie, wondering where her physician had went.

: : : Maria reached up and gently took her chin and the back of her head in her hands, then gave a quick but relatively gentle twist, first one way, then the other to pop her neck rather loudly. The security officer groaned softly to herself in enjoyment and relief then rolled her neck some more. She gave a soft sigh then raised her arms over her head, arching her back, stretching more, before letting her hands fall back to the biobed with a thump. "Ummm... I don't suppose this is the best time to do my arrival-to-post checkup is it," she said with a wry smile.

: : Paige smiled slightly "Probably not, but we know what happened so I won't hold it against you." She said as she ran the tricorder over the security officer "Anything else I should know about that's not in your file?" She asked.

The young security officer shook her head. "Not really. Just the usual minor bumps, bruises, and scrapes, and strains," she replied. "You know the usual type stuff that happens in the course of life, none of which I've had lately." It was true. Since she'd gotten off her parent's freighter, and gone through the academy and stuff anything like that had been rare. She'd been through a lot of rough and tumble things here and there through the academy, and extracurricular activities. Her time aboard the Sioto had been uneventful for the most part.
