: Black paused as he considered things "do you think we could examine these caves then that they have been taking the readings of?... or have you already been doing that?.. " He paused again to remove something from a small case in his pocket. He put the cigarette up to his lips and lit up from a Starfleet Marine-engraved lighter. He took a deep drag as he examined the surroundings again.

"I think it's worth a look, but we're just far enough away that some of the mineral deposits are interfering with my tricorder."

Ketchum watched the CMO smoke, with a hidden sense of irony. The Betazoid didn't even know that some humans still smoked, and always found it a bit bewildering that a physician would have a habit so wholly dangerous. Some part of him would always be a little naive, apparently.
